The Zonal Coordinator Zone D Nigeria Customs Service, Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Abdulrazak Abdulaziz, has decorated 30 newly promoted officers to various ranks, tasking them to redouble efforts
Speaking at the decoration ceremony on Thursday in Bauchi, ACG Abdulaziz charged the promoted officers to increase their efforts in achieving the Service’s goals, particularly in revenue generation and tackling smuggling.
ACG Abdulaziz emphasized that the promotions were a privilege from God and should not be taken for granted.
He encouraged the officers to strive for excellence, as the Nigeria Customs Service seeks to consolidate, collaborate, and innovate to meet international standards and best practices.
The ACG, represented by Comptroller Federation Operation Unit (FOU) Zone D Aliyu Abubakar, advised the promoted officers to acquire more knowledge and on-the-job training to enhance trade facilitation, revenue generation.
“The Nigeria Customs Service, under the pragmatic and visionary leadership of Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi MFR is poised to consolidate, collaborate and create more innovations to uplift and reform all facets of the service,” ACG Abdulaziz Said.
In response, newly promoted Customs Comptroller Ofonime Ido expressed gratitude to God, the Customs Service, and Nigerians for the opportunity to serve.
He pledged to redouble his efforts and strategies to make more seizures and enforce fiscal policies compliance.
The promoted officers include three Comptrollers, one Deputy Comptroller, ten Assistant Comptrollers, and others.
Zone D comprises Bauchi Gombe, Plateau Nasarawa Benue , Borno Yobe, Adamawa Taraba, North East Marine Commands and Federal Operations Unit Zone D.
