In a bid to strengthen collaboration on development and anti-corruption initiatives, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Chapter, have paid a familiarisation visit to the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in Yola.

The delegation was led by the Adamawa and Taraba State Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Mr. Okoro Ulu James, and the SSANU MAU Chapter Chairman, Comrade Michael Omokoro, who both commended the NEDC for its impactful developmental interventions across Adamawa State and the wider North-East region.

Mr. James emphasized the significance of inter-agency cooperation in promoting transparency and accountability, assuring that the ICPC remains committed to supporting the NEDC in safeguarding its projects from corruption, mismanagement, and abuse.

In his remarks, Comrade Omokoro lauded the NEDC’s strategic investments in the education sector and expressed SSANU’s readiness to partner with the Commission on initiatives that would enhance the university community and foster academic growth.

Responding, the NEDC State Coordinator, Barr. Khalifa M. Lawan, thanked both delegations for their visit and reaffirmed the Commission’s unwavering commitment to transparency, integrity, and collaboration with key institutions in driving sustainable development across the North-East region.
