The Adamawa state government, with support from Impact Project, has provided ultrasound scanners in 21 cottage hospitals aimed at reducing maternal deaths in the state.
The state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, who presented the equipment for upward delivery to the LGAs, said it would ease the diagnosis of pregnant women, their babies, and other health complications.
Farauta reiterated government efforts to provide health services to the people.
The state Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Chief Felix Tangwami assured of government support to health partners.
He noted that accurate diagnosis results would be obtained when the equipment is put to use.
The Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), commended the Governor Ahmadu Fintiri-led administration for prioritizing the health sector, which has improved health indices in the state.
