Adamawa Delegation Attends Leadership Masterclass in Istanbul

Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri led the Adamawa State delegation to a one-week Leadership and Management Masterclass for Senior Female Executives in Istanbul, Turkey.

The program, organized by the World Institute for Gender Studies (WIGS) in partnership with Bahcesehir University, is being held at the prestigious Gonen Hotel in Istanbul.

The Adamawa delegation consists of the Chairperson of Fufore Local Government, wives of the 21 Local Government Chairmen, Directors from the Ministry, as well as the wives of Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, among others.

Speaking on behalf of Hajiya Lami, the Chairperson of Fufore Local Government, Hon. Peace Audu, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for granting women the opportunity to participate.

She explained that the training aligns with the governor’s strong commitment to women’s inclusion in governance, describing him as the He-for-She Governor who has set a new benchmark in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Hon. Audu also shared her personal journey, recalling how the governor elevated her from Vice Chairman to Chairman of Fufore Local Government, a decision that shaped her political career.

Also speaking at the event, the wife of the Toungo Local Government Chairman and ALGON Chairperson, Hajiya Rasheeda Suleiman, commended Hajiya Lami, their spouses, and the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for making their participation possible.

She stressed that the knowledge gained from the program would enhance their leadership and management skills.

Day One of the masterclass featured a lecture by Dr. Tugce Aslan, an expert in entrepreneurship, innovation, and strategic management, who spoke on the theme “Lead with Influence and Impact.” Her session offered participants practical insights into leadership that inspires meaningful change.

Other topics discussed included the context for women leaders in 2025, executive presence and strategic communication, negotiation and stakeholder influence with gender perspectives, building strategic networks and policy skills, and leading high-performance hybrid teams with psychological safety.

The event brought together delegates from Yobe State, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Ebonyi State University, the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services, and several other organizations, making it a diverse and enriching gathering.
