DAFEE Donates Uniforms to 250 Pupils, Honours Gov Fintiri, Others with Excellence Awards

The Dadah Foundation for Educational Empowerment (DAFEE) on Tuesday donated school uniforms to 250 poor and vulnerable pupils across five local government areas of Adamawa State.

The Dadah Foundation for Educational Empowerment (DAFEE) on Tuesday donated school uniforms to 250 poor and vulnerable pupils across five local government areas of Adamawa State.

The event, held at Admiral Nyako Hall, State Secretariat in Yola, also featured the presentation of excellence awards to stakeholders for their contributions to educational development in the state.

Chairman of the occasion and Head of Service, Pharmacist Shehu Isa Ardo, represented by Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary, Pension Board, commended the foundation for the initiative, describing it as a complementary effort to the state government’s drive to expand access to education.

Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Yola North Local Government Area, Hon. Jimeta, applauded the founder of DAFEE for putting smiles on the faces of vulnerable children and called on citizens to support the less privileged for inclusive growth and prosperity.

In his welcome remarks, Executive Director of DAFEE, Alhaji Ahmad Usman Dadah, explained that the initiative is aimed at boosting school enrollment, improving attendance, and reducing social conflict and marginalization.

He said five schools each were selected from Yola North, Yola South, Fufure, Girei, and Demsa LGAs, with ten pupils from each benefiting, making a total of 250 beneficiaries.

Goodwill messages came from Special Adviser to the Governor on Good Governance, Dr. Adamu Babikkoi; Vice Chairperson of the Network of Non-Governmental Organizations, Aishatu Yakubu; and others, who praised the initiative and urged similar organizations to emulate DAFEE’s example.

Highlights of the event included the presentation of uniforms to headteachers of selected schools such as Karewa, Gwadabawa, Rumde, Yelwa, Doubeli, Yolde, Ngurore, IDP Camp Malkohi, Girei I and II, Demsa Central, and Ganigaku Primary Schools, Bajabure, among others.

Excellence awards were also presented to distinguished personalities in recognition of their contributions to education.

The awardees included Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Commissioner of Education Dr. Umar Garba Pella, and Vice Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University, Professor Ibrahim Umar, among others.
