The people of Michika have expressed deep appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for restoring their lost dignity through creating the Michika Chiefdom, a long-standing aspiration of the community.
The governor, who hosted sons and daughters of Michika in a symbolic “thank you visit,” was warmly commended for fulfilling the promise he made a year ago to restore the traditional institution in the area.
In his address, Governor Fintiri emphasized the need for continued peace, unity, and development, urging the people to work together for the greater good of Michika and Adamawa State at large.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to development, assuring that more projects and programmes are in the pipeline for the remainder of his tenure.
The governor recalled how he campaigned across the state to earn the people’s mandate and vowed not to relent in delivering good governance until his last day in office.
He further announced significant plans to upgrade institutions in Michika, including upgrading the College of Health to improve its status and facilities, equipping the General Hospital in Michika to serve as a referral centre with the installation of a CT scan machine, recruiting qualified staff to complement infrastructural upgrades, and deploying health workers to rural communities with legally-backed allowances.
In his remarks, Mbege Ka Michika, Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga, praised the governor for his bold and historic decision to restore the Michika Chiefdom, describing it as a long-overdue act that reinstated the pride of the Michika people.
He also highlighted other achievements of the governor in Michika, including the relocation of the School of Health back to its original site, road construction projects, the building of a model school, the reduction in youth unemployment, and ongoing infrastructural and social development initiatives.
He pledged the community’s continuous support to Governor Fintiri and his administration, promising to safeguard peace and build on the progress already made.
Also speaking, Major General Bitrus Kwaji (Rtd) expressed heartfelt gratitude, describing Governor Fintiri as a true father of the people who governs without bias.
He commended the governor’s commitment to peace and development and assured that the people of Michika would continue to uphold unity and support the progress of his administration.
