The Senior Special Assistant Governor’s office to Governor Bala Mohammed Hon Sulaiman Musa Mai Posta has congratulated the governor on his victory at the supreme court, describing it as deserving.
In a statement made available to news men in Bauchi, Hon Sulaiman Musa Mai who is the chairman “Democracy and good governance forum” said the victory means continues dividends of democracy to Bauchi state and its people.
Mai Posta said Governor Bala Mohammed won the 18th march 2023 Governorship election through popular votes as he defeated his main challenger Rtd Air Marshal Sadiq Baba Abubakar with a margin of about ten thousand votes which demonstrates the fact that people of Bauchi state wants continuity.
The statement added that Governor Bala mohammed’s reelection was a product of good governance as exemplified through the execution of developmental projects across the twenty local Government areas of the state.
“In terms of road projects alone, Governor Bala Mohammed in just four years executed over 400km of roads across the twenty local Government areas of Bauchi state. He is the governor that reinvigorated the Bauchi water resource sector which has been abandoned for over twelve years, initiate and empowerment program tagged “kaura economic empowerment program” (KEEP) to alleviate poverty at the grassroots all in a bid to deliver dividends of democracy to the people. The statement added.
Mai Posta said more to Governor Bala mohammed’s performances that endeared the people to reelect him is the existing peace and stability of all ethnic and religious groups in the state which is giving rise to various social and economic development of the state and its people.
“Peace is an integral part of development and my Boss his excellency Sen Bala Mohammed has since realized that, HENCED his resolved to carry everybody along in the scheme of things, giving political appointments across the diverse ethnic and religious groups in the state. Mai Posta stressed.
On the opposition All progressives Congress APC candidate Rtd Air Marshal Sadiq Baba Abubakar that challenged the governor’s victory at the tribunal, appeal Court and supreme court, the S S A Governor’s office said it is just a waste of time instead of allowing the governor to concentrate on actualising his ADMINISTRATION’S vision and mission aim at delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Bauchi state.
The statement added that now that the case is over with the Apex court upholding the victory of governor Bala Mohammed as a duely elected governor of Bauchi state for the second term, the opposition political parties should come and join hands with him in building a new Bauchi state where everyone would be proud of.
” His excellency has one speciality with him which is accommodating all and sundry irrespective of tribe, religion or political party, so let them come and join hands with him and he will be very ready to accept them”. Mai Posta added.
The statement added that worthy of mention is the fact that Governor Bala Mohammed has succeeded in giving people of Bauchi state a brand new seat of power (the new Bauchi Government House), the first of its kind since Bauchi state was created in 1976, HENCED the need for the governor to continue with the good works.
On his second term agenda, Mai Posta said already the governor has set the Ball rolling with the award of two hundred kilometers of road projects across the state and the construction of two major fly overs at Wunti and central Markets. The first of its kind in the history of Bauchi state since its creation in 1976 and some of these projects have since been flagged off.
“Our prayers and wishes as his leutenants is, with the supreme court judgment that upheld Governor Bala Mohammed’s Victory, he will now settle for real business with least distractions. Let’s the good people of Bauchi state therefore continue to support the administration to enable it succeed in the tasks ahead for continues development, expressing optimism that by the time Governor Bala Mohammed completed his two term he will leave Bauchi state far better than where he met it in the year 2019 when he was elected.
