A Taraba Former Acting Gov.Garba Umar on Tuesday denied endorsing Sen. Shu’aibu Lau, candidate of PDP for Taraba Northern Senatorial District in Saturday’s National Assembly Election.
This is contained in a statement issued by Umar and made available to newsmen in Jalingo.
He advised the general public to desist from spreading such a rumour.
“Our attention has been drawn to a video trending that Dr. Garba Umar (UTC) former Acting Governor of Taraba state has endorsed Senator Shu’aibu Isa Lau for Senate.
“This is far from the truth. Members of the general public are please advised to desist from spreading such rumors.
“I, therefore, advise Sen Lau to please go out there and seek supporters and not to rely on His Excellency, Dr. Garba Umar UTC.
“You are again advised to desist from spreading such rumor because this will lead you to nowhere,’ the statement closed.
Recalled that Umar acted as the governor of Taraba from 2012 to 2015, while Sen. Shu’aibu Isa Lau is the present Senator representing Taraba North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
