As the Sarkin Hausawan Takum, a Local Government Area of Taraba State, Alhaji Hudu Isma’ila Madugu clocked 30 years on the throne, all is set for celebrations.
During a press conference in Jalingo, the capital city, on Tuesday, 18th March 2025, the Chairman of the Central Organising Committee (COC), Hon. Sani Abdullahi Tullu, said the event is billed for 2nd April 2025 in Takum.
He said the occasion will provide an opportunity for the Hausa community in the area to appreciate the Almighty God for His Grace that enables them to coexist peacefully with other ethnic groups in Takum and the contiguous communities from time immemorial.
During the event, a book titled “A Brief History of the Hausa Community in Takum” will be unveiled, as revealed by the COC Chairman.
Hon. Sani Abdullahi Tullu hinted that the book traced their history, inroads, contributions, Cultural ethos, Values and consistent efforts in the spiritual upliftment of Takum and its environs.
He further highlighted other activities that include exhibitions, showcases of their Art, artefacts, Food and cultural displays.
This aims to remind the Younger generations of the revered cultural values, discipline and general social, political, and economic activities of the Hausa community for them to emulate for social and spiritual rejuvenation to promote good Brotherhood and neighbourliness in the interest of harmonious co-existence for mutually beneficial relationships.
However, Hon. Tullu revealed that the anniversary will feature a presentation of different Awards of excellence to prominent individuals for their contributions to the development of Takum, Taraba State, and the Nation at large.
Additionally, the Chairman named, among others, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (Rtd), the Abonta of Wukari, the late Ukwe Ali Ibrahim, and the late Alhaji Ahmadu Chanchanji who will be the beneficiaries of Posthumous awards.
Hon. Sani Abdullahi Tullu, furthermore, used the medium to congratulate the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for its 70th anniversary and appreciated their contributions to society.
In conclusion, the Central Organising Committee assured of a hitch-free 30th Anniversary Of the Sarkin Hausawa Takum as they have the support and consent of critical stakeholders, traditional institutions and the government of Taraba State.
