Numan Youths Cry Out Insensitivity Of PDP Stakeholders On Appointment List

Concern Numan Youths in Numan LGA of Adamawa State who are also members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party PDP have stressed the need for a quick intervention over what they called denial of Governor Fintiri’s Payback Instruction.

They made this position known in a statement issued to journalists in Yola, the state capital.

The statement reads in parts: “The instruction given by His Excellency during his stakeholders’ engagement was not to vote or delegate by PDP ward EXCOs but a nomination by the larger population to appoint the best and most hardworking PDP member.

“In Numan LGA, the story has always been about religion ahead of hard work. One critical factor is that PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar lost in Numan LGA to Peter OBi of LP.

“Dr. Aminu has not only been the best appointee in numan but the best in its federation.

“He is second to none. He brought stability, peace empowerment and made a lot of people decamp to the PDP.

“It is not surprising that some powerful and mischievous masquerades both in PDP and APC have been working hard to cripple the young humanitarian personality due to fear of his successes, empowerment programmes, water projects, and growing popularity he attained in the past 4 years.

“The fear has also been translated by the young Man taking over the political space in the area.

“Such fear made the PDP ward excos who were remotely controlled by their mischievous masters filled in an APC Christian youth in a Muslim-dominated ward, who was also not from the ward and has not contributed to its development.

“He has been the best political appointee in the numan federation who maintained peace and unity amongst the youths by organizing a yearly seminar and dinner. The statement disclosed.

The statement, however, highlighted some of the achievements recorded by Dr. Aminu in the past four years comprising the construction of about 50 boreholes across all wards of Numan, the empowerment of about 200 youths and women as well as support ward 3 clinics with equipment worth N5m.

It further described him as the highest financial contributor as a political aide to PDP in Numan who defeated and reduced opposition votes in their strongest hold dominated by hausa fulani.

” Dr. Aminu revived PDP amongst Hausa Fulani in Numan and has been the most hardworking aide who has contributed the most to the success of the party in the area.

The statement, however, described the alleged forceful nomination of an APC Christian person from Ward 2 by the EXCOs as sentimental which is a threat to the PDP as a ruling party in the state.

“The EXCOs were influenced by some powerful masquerades against the instruction of the Governor to bring the best nominated non-party member.

“The so-called nominated candidate Arc. Zidon is from Ward 2 and has no voting polling unit in Ward 3.

“Ward 3 is dominated by 90% hausa fulani Muslim but a Christian was imposed against the wishes of the voters.

“An unrest has now been created by such action by the PDP EXCO at the ward,” the statement closed.

Umar Mustapha, A Political Scavenger

Our attention has been drawn to a press briefing by one Umaru Mustapha, a self-declared Otumba of Ekiti who traded the Labour Party governorship ticket for self aggrandisement.

One can best describe the politician as suffering from hullicianation and anguish.
The 2023 Labour Party candidate in Adamawa had in a news conference accused Governor Fintiri of supporting Ulama’s visit to President Tinubu on the impending Tribunal judgement in Adamawa.

Umaru Mustapha is a political scavenger and his actions would naturally attract my attention since it was, as usual, mindless chatter produced by his temporary relief from lunacy.

If his vision of reality differs from that of reasonable people, how did he become aware that the Governor had dispatched Ulamas to the President? At best, his remark was a combination of dishonesty, a lack to comprehend, and an entry into interference and laziness.

The devil’s habitat is an idle hand and heart, such as Mustapha Umaru’s. We could normally dismiss his babbling, but in this day and age, when even the most unsophisticated of minds have access to information, it’s necessary to put things in their proper context and perspective.

Umaru Mustapha is looking for attention after failing to be recruited by the APC candidate in Adamawa during the last election.

Nigerians will never forget Hudu Yunusa Ari’s illegal declaration of a candidature in the middle of an election that sparked global outrage and was condemned by the APC as a party.

Every Nigerian is aware of the situation between Hudu Yunusa and INEC, which has been halted because the prosecution of the suspended REC has been temporarily postponed due to another matter launched in Abuja.

Umaru Mustapha’s outburst towards Fintiri appears to be prompted by obvious reasons known to many. For a thorough understanding, it is necessary to study and consider the numerous circumstances that can cause such emotional responses.

Financial security can have major psychological and emotional implications. When people are anxious about money, tension, annoyance, and even wrath can arise.

I am aware that personal and family financial pressures may be taxing, but I had no clue Mustapha’s weight would be so visible in Adamawa.

It’s critical Mustapha to find appropriate outlets for frustrations and fears, such as engaging in constructive arguments, connecting with like-minded people, or joining advocacy groups dedicated to tackling economic issues not sitting in the comfort of your house to churn lies and inuendoes.

Connecting with others who are going through similar difficulties can provide you with validation, encouragement, and ideas on how to proceed.

I expect him to make something useful of his rage. Use it as a springboard for reflection and change. Manage his wisdom wisely if there is any remaining, assess your talents, and look for methods to advance or new employment opportunities that can benefit you financially rather than accusing the Governor on the slitest provocation.

He should Seek out educational books, courses, or financial planning services if he needs assistance navigating the financial world or improving his existing financial status.

Finally, it comes to reason that his mental and emotional health will mirror his financial situation.

The Governor does not require any Ulama to pay a courtesy visit to the President following a fair and square election, but we understand the factors that have contributed to your dissatisfaction.

I’m Still Leading With 858 Valid Votes – Hon. Sunday Peter

I’ll Seek Redress At Appeal Court

The Member Representing Guyuk Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Peter, has reacted on the judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal which declared his election at 2 polling units inconclusive.

Hon. Sunday Peter, said that there is no cause for alam with the decision of the tribunal and appealed to his teaming supporters, party officials and stakeholders to remain calm as the verdict will not change anything.

The tribunal on Monday invalidated the election of Hon. Sunday Peter at Zabi Sonka polling unit (Code 004) of Purokayo ward and Mararraba polling unit 007 of Kola ward respectively where elections were cancelled due to over voting.

Unit 004 has a total number of 556 registered voters out of which 525 had collected their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC’s), while unit 007 has a total number of 781 voters with 771 PVC’s collected ahead of the 18th March, 2023 poll.

The total number of PVCs collected at Zabi Sonka where the exercise was characterised with over voting stood at 556, while at Mararaba Kola where election was cancelled were 781 PVC’s.

In all, the PVC’s collected at the affected two polling units were 1, 337 higher than the margin of lead as a result of which, the tribunal nullified the elections and ordered the electoral body to conduct re- run within 90 days.

At Zabisonka, the total number of PVC’s collected was 556 and the total number of votes cast was 198, out of which the APC Candidate, Hon. Sunday Peter scored 138 votes, while the PDP Candidate, Hon. Adwawa Donglok polled 57 votes.

The entire election for Guyuk constituency saw Hon. Sunday Peter emerging winner after scoring 16,532, while the former lawmaker, Hon. Adwawa garnered 15,593 as a result of which Hon. Peter was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Prof. J. Aidan.

Mathematically, if 138 voided votes at unit 004 are deducted from 16,532, total number of lawful votes scored during the election by Hon. Peter, he will be left with 16, 394 votes, while Hon. Adwawa will be left 15,536 votes if 57 nullified votes are deducted from 15,593 lawful votes he had garnered.

Likewise, if 15, 536 lawful votes scored by Hon. Adwawa are deducted from 16, 394, the margin of lead will be 858. This means that Hon. Sunday Peter is currently leading with 858 votes ahead of Hon. Adwawa and other candidates who slugged it out during the exercise.

Therefore, if re-run election is to be conducted at the 2 polling units where 1,337 PVC’s were collected, Hon. Sunday Peter will be struggling for roughly 300 votes, while Hon. Adwawa Donglok will be striving for over 1,000 votes.

Recall that during the just concluded election, only 198 out of 556 eligible voters at Zabisonka, and 335 voters out of 781 voters at Mararaba exercised their franchise which brings a total number of 533 voters who were able to vote.

At the moment, nobody is sure whether 533 out of 1,337 eligible voters who had collected their PVC’s will still vote during the supplementary election to be conducted in the next 3 months as ordered by the tribunal.

It could be recalled that in his petition marked: EPT/AD/SHA/5/2023, Hon. Adwawa asked the tribunal to nullify election at 15 polling units including Zabi Sonka unit 004, Mararaba unit 007, Deremina/Lokoro Pry. Sch. 001, Yakwana unit 006, NEPA Office 006, Gwaluram/Gwaluram unit 004.

Others include: Bilasi K. Dagacin Bobini unit 002, Anguwan Fulani Gwalam unit 009, Chirka Lamja 001, Falu Tsikiye 003, Gwasilwa 006, Tholo/Kongla 017, Krista Gwalura unit 013 and Kerau/Dagalim unit 002.

He equally prayed the tribunal to restore no fewer than 92 votes allegedly deducted from his votes at Walukrista/Walu Primary School and Dankal registration area, and sought for an order for supplementary election.

The tribunal however declined to grant all the relifs sought; instead, nullified election at the 2 polling units and ordered for supplementary election while delivering judgement in the petition.

It was based on the foregoing that the former Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Hon. Sunday Peter, stated that he was not afraid of the re-run election, saying that he is ahead with 858 valid votes, and that the judgement is just a distraction.

Hon. Sunday Peter further stated that he is still the member representing Guyuk constituency at the House of Assembly because the law allows him to seek redress at the court of appeal, assuring that either way, he will still emerge victorious.

The APC lawmaker stated that he is very sure of reclaiming his widely acclaimed mandate whichever way pendulum swings, and called on his constituents not to entertain any fear as nobody will snatch their mandate.
