Gov Fintiri Turbaned As New Gyana Bachama

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Saturday turbaned as the new Gyana (defender) Bachama by Hama Bachama and Paramount ruler of Bachama Kingdom, Homun Daniel Shaga Ismaila.
The colorful event which held in Lamurde, the headquarters of Bachama Traditional Council was attended by State Deputy Governor, Chief Crowther Seth and some top government officials, party chieftains among others .
Speaking at the event, Homun Shaga Ismaila pointed out that the title is an additional responsibility on the Governor to championing the course of peace and prayed that it will be a path to progress and development of the land.
The royal father commended Governor Umaru Fintiri for ensuring peace and security in Bachama Kingdom revealing that his peace loving subjects now go about their lawful businesses without any hindrance.
“Your Excellency, you have brought peace in our land. Our people now go to their farms in peace without any fear of attacks. I wish you the best of luck in the forthcoming elections and beyond,” said the royal father.
In his vote of thanks, Governor Umaru Fintiri appreciated the royal father for bestowing on him the title of Gyana Bachama and noted that it will no doubt spur him to do more in the area of good governance for the state.
He reiterates his resolve to use the title to promote peace, development and prospery in Bachama land and Adamawa State as well as unite the diversed Adamawa people across the nooks and crannies of the state.
Governor Fintiri had after the turbaning ceremony in company of some top government officials proceeded to commission Governor’s Lodge which was a joint project constructed in Lamurde town.
Highlight of the turbaning event was cultural dance display by various groups.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, his counterpart of Delta State, Ifanyi Okowa were among other high ranking dignitaries that attended the turbaning of Alh Aliyu Atiku Abubakar as the 5th Turaki Adamawa.
The newest Turaki is the son of the longest serving Turaki Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who reigned for thirty-six years before he was promoted to the Eminent Tiltle of Waziri in November 2018.
The Former Vice President and 2023 Presidential Candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was also at the event to witness the turbaning ceremony of his son.
Also turbaned by Lamido Adamawa, Dr Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa at the ceremony on Friday in Yola town was Alhaji Musdapha Dahiru Musdapha as the 13th Yarima Adamawa.
In his conferral Speech, Lamido Adamawa Dr. Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa said the confirment of the titles on the two illustrious sons was because of their contributions to the progress of the state and Nigeria.
He called on the new tiltleholders to take the new responsibility bestowed on them with utmost seriousness and unite with other members of the Emirate Council for the development of the state.
In his appreciation speech on behalf of the new titleholders, the 13th Yarima Adamawa, Alhaji Musdapha Dahiru Musdapha appreciates Lamido Adamawa for finding them worthy of the eminent titles.
He pledged their commitment towards growth of the Emirate and Adamawa and dedicate their time and resources in the interest of the people and prayed to Allah to guide them in the discharge of the assignments.
The newest Turaki Alhaji Aliyu Atiku Abubakar born in 1992 has a Master’s Degree in International Business obtained from the Hult International Business School in the United Arab Emirates.

The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) in Adamawa State has conferred an Excellence Award on Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Malam Bashiru Ahmad.
According to PAWECA, the award was in recognition of his long term support to the Agency and his contributions towards the development of Youths and Women in the state.
The award was presented to the SSG by State Deputy Governor, Chief Crowther Seth at PAWECA event of Unveiling the Compendium on Youths and Women Empowerment in the Government House, Yola, Tuesday.
Ahmad has become a multi award winner having received many distinguished awards from both governmental and non governmental organizations.
Of recent was from the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Adamawa State Chapter that conferred excellence award on him at an event in Yola.
The union has after a thorough consideration, unanimously selected Ahmad and presented him with the award during the 2022 NBA Dinner and Award Night in Yola.
Similarly, the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) northeast zone had recently conferred excellence award on the SSG at an event held at Federal College of Education (FCE) Yola.
The union being a major stakeholder in Nigeria’s education sector had after a thorough consideration, unanimously selected Ahmad to be bestowed with the award of ‘Best Supporting SSG’.
The Periscope Global and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Ambassadors had also on separate events recognised the SSG with distinguished merit awards.
