Adamawa Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri says the 2023 election does not worth the blood of any Nigerian and therefore urged the security agencies to do their best in curbing criminality before, during after the polls.

The Governor who disclosed this when he received high ranking officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service Zone C, on a courtesy call in the Government House Yola, says his administration will abide by the rules of the game throughout the politicking period.

Fintiri lamented the nature of many porous borders in the country which he noted are the gateway for criminals who cause devastation on the land.

He emphasised that the electoral act which is the current system on ground will pay way for a credible elections, urging the Immigration Service to properly monitor the borders in the country to preclude foreign infiltrators during the polls.

He commended efforts of the Immigration Service in the state and assured continued support of the government to all security agencies towards discharging their duties effectively.

Earlier in his remarks, the Acting Assistant Comptroller Immigration Service in charge of Routine Meeting, Mr Ismail Abba Aliyu said he was in the state for a 3 day meeting with comptrollers of Zone C, to deliberate on the 2023 general elections.

Aliyu revealed that in 2019 elections, foreigners infiltrated through borders, participated in the polls and caused mayhem, saying the service will not allow the reoccurrence of the menace in the next year’s general elections.

He said some of the resolutions reached by the officers during their meetings include preventing non Nigerians to hold in their possession Nigerian documents, effective surveillance of the borders and checking out foreigners who live illegally in the country.

Aliyu commended Governor Umaru Fintiri for changing the face of Adamawa, saying he was amazed with the lavel of transformation championed by the present administration, urging for continuity in delivering good governance.

TSHA Member, Sarki Renovates, Commissions VGN Ward Office In Jalingo

The member representing Jalingo I in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Adamu Sarki has reiterated his commitment to contributing his quota in providing adequate security in his Constituency.

He stated this on Monday 3/6/2024 during the commissioning ceremony of a renovated outpost of the VGN at Turaki ‘A’ Ward in Jalingo.

Sarki said he renovated the VGN Ward office with the view to encourage members of the group to continue with their good job of assisting the police and other security agencies in protecting the lives and property of the citizens.

Hon. Umar Adamu Sarki commended members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Taraba State for their selfless service to humanity and urged them not to relent to continue supporting in combating crimes across the state.

Responding, the Jalingo LG VGN Commander, Munir Bello Abubakar described the gesture by the legislator as a morale booster for their members to redouble their commitment to duty.

Munir Bello Abubakar, who is also the North-east VGN’s Zonal Deputy Commander of Administration, called on wealthy individuals and other politicians to emulate Hon. Umar Adamu Sarki by supporting VGN in the state.

He reaffirmed their resolve to continue supporting security agencies in combating crimes in society at all levels in Taraba State.

Boko Haram Commander, Five Fighters Surrender To MNJTF

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) of Operation Lake Sanity II has announced the surrender of Adamu Muhammad, Boko Haram terrorist commander, and 5 other fighters to Sector 3 MNJTF in Monguno, Borno State Nigeria on Thursday. 

In a statement by Chief Military Public Information Officer N’djamena-Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi to journalists in Maiduguri on Friday noting that it has intensified its operations against the terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region.

He said the terrorists escaped from the ISWAP faction hideout in Jubillaram, situated in Southern Lake Chad. 

“Adamu, 22 years old, had participated in numerous terrorist attacks and roamed around Kangarwa, Alagarno, Doro Naira, and Dogon Chikwu in Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State, Nigeria.

“During their surrender, they handed over 11 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and one warhead of anti-aircraft rounds.

“Other surrendered fighters include;  Isah Ali, 18 years old; Hassan Modu, 18 years old; Nasir Idris, 23 years old escort for the Commander of Jubillaram Usman Rash; Abba Aji, 21 years old and
Abubakar Isah, 20 years old.”Lt Col Abdullahi said.

He added that the surrendered fighters are currently undergoing investigation.

He said this brings the total number of terrorists who have surrendered since the commencement of Operation Lake Sanity ll on 23 April 2024 to 119.

The MNJTF appeals to other terrorists to follow suit, lay down their arms, and embrace peace. We reaffirm our commitment to ensuring a secure environment in the Lake Chad Basin region.

VGN Rescue 3 Kidnapped Victims, Arrest Suspects In Taraba

The Taraba State Command of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) has successfully rescued three kidnapped victims. 

The Command’s VPRO, Suleiman Aliyu, disclosed this in a statement released to newsmen in Jalingo. 

The victims were rescued when the Special Tactical Squad of the VGN invaded the kidnappers’ camps at Kachalla mountain in the Lau LGA of the state following a tip-off. 

The rescued victims are Alhaji Dankawu, 60 years old, a 13-year-old named Haruna Shagari, and Alhaji Isa, 67 years old. 

Alhaji Dankawu was kidnapped at Garin Dogo, Haruna Shagari at Yolde Kindang, and Alhaji Isa at Lushi village. One of the victims, Haruna Shagari, has been reunited with his family.

During the operation, the Command arrested two of the suspected kidnappers, Sale Manu and Manu Siddiki, who confessed to the crime without torture. 

In a video clip, Sale Manu specifically stated that they own five (5) AK47 rifles for operations and listed other gang members who are currently on the run.

The VGN Commander, Munir Bello Abubakar, who is the North-east VGN’s Zonal Deputy Commander of Administration, revealed that they had destroyed the kidnappers’ camps at Kachalla mountain in the Lau LGA of the State on May 12th, 2024. 

Additionally, an informant named Murtala Santi, who lives in Minda along the Kona-Lau road, was also arrested by members of the VGN. 

Commander Munir Bello Abubakar reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting security agencies in combating crimes across the state.
