Adamawa Govt Condoles Family Of Late OPEC Sec General, Barkindo

A high powered Adamawa government delegation led by Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Malam Bashir Ahmed has Condoles with the family of late OPEC Sec General Barkindo Muhammad Sunusi.

Speaking at the residence of the deceased in Yola, Malam Ahmad prayed to God to rise another committed son of the state who will live for humanity like the late Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo.

He sympathized with the family over the shocking demise of their father, brother and son.

The SSG lamented that it is obvious that the state is in sober mode following the demise of one of the most decorated son of the soil whose commitment and dedication to duty and humanity knows no bounds.

According to Malam Ahmad, both within and outside the shores of Nigeria, the deceased has proven to be a worthy son whose contribution has impacted the nation and the international community praying that God will rise among the sons of the state some one who will fit into the shoes of the deceased.

“My hope is that God will rise again one of our sons to live for humanity the way late Sanusi Barkindo did”

He prayed to God to give the family, friends, associates and the state the strength to bear the lose and grant the deceased eternal rest.

At the time of filing this report sympathizers from the state and national levels continue trooping to the residence of the deceased to register their condolences.

The state government delegation led by the SSG include; the Chief of Staff to the governor Prof. Maxwell Gidado, Commissioners of Agric, Local Government and Cheiftaincy Affairs, Special Duties, Hon. Umar Iya Daware, Hon Yayaji Mijinyawa and Aloisius Babadoke respectively.

Aliyu Mohammad, first cousine to the deceased who received the government delegation thank them for identifying with them in their trying moment and prayed Allah to cement the relationship between the family and the government.

The late Sanusi who died at the age of 63 left behind two wives, a son, aged mother and relations.

Gov Fintiri, Others Attend Sali’s Funeral Prayer

The remains of Alhaji Muhammadu Chubadu Sali, a popular politician in the state has been laid to rest on Thursday amidst eulogies from sympathizers.

Alhaji Sali who died after a protracted illness at Modibbo Adama Teaching Hospital, Yola on Thursday was buried in Yola cemetery.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was among hundreds of mourners that turned out at the funeral prayer of the late Alhaji Chubadu Sali at Yola town.

The Governor has sympathized with the bereaved family and people of Yola South over the death of elder statesman.

He said the death of the politician will be sorely missed as he has contributed immensely to the development of democracy in the state.

He prayed to Allah to grant the soul of the decease eternal rest and the family, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, noting that death is inevitable to every mortal.

Borno South PDP Senatorial Candidate Alleges Plan To Steal His Mandate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial candidate for Borno South, Kudla Satumari has raised an alarm of plan to rob him of alleged mandate he was given.

Satumari in a statement on Monday, said there was a grand plan by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the election results of some areas in Borno South senatorial district where the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) was not administered.

He claimed he was ahead in places where BVAs where administered, but the APC has started bringing massively manipulate result which give them advantage from the places where BVAs was not used.

He said: “We have concrete evidence to proof that elections were conducted in some areas of Southern Borno without the use of BVAs.

“Gwoza, Shani, Bayo, Damboa and Kwaya Kusar were some areas mostly affected.
I have personally called and notified the INEC state REC of the non usage of BVAs for accreditation in Ngoshe, Gwoza local government area when it was first observed before more evidences poured in.”

He added that: “Consequently, the good people of southern Borno and I will resist any attempt by any individual, group or agency of government to violate the provisions of the electoral act to disrupt the peaceful election process in which I am already leading in areas where elections were properly conducted in accordance with the provisions of the new electoral act using BVAs for accreditation.

“This situation has been escalated to the highest authority.”

He said: “We urge INEC not to declare the results of contentious areas of Southern Borno but consider outright cancellations of fraudulent results obtained from the violation of the electoral act.”

He queried that: “Why are results not uploaded, announced 48 hours after the elections, why did many polling units paper work did not have senatorial candidates result sheet until very late after threat of stopping the voting process by the agitated voters.”

He said: “We will do everything within our capacity to defend the mandate freely given us by our people. I ask all our supporters to remain calm and await the outcome of our engagements to address the issue.”

Taraba: SWAN Deputy President, Members Pay Condolence Visit To Chairman

Members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Taraba State chapter have paid a condolence visit to the state Chairman, Joachim Bandawa Dangana over the death of his wife late Mrs. Janet Joachim.

Recalled that the late Mrs. Janet Joachim Bandawa died on Monday 23rd, February 2023 in Wukari LGA of the state and was laid to rest on 27th February 2023  in Jalingo, the state capital at the compound of her husband.

Late Mrs. Joachim, age 37, left behind her husband, daughter Valerie Joachim, aged mother, brothers, and relations.

Led by the Deputy President SWAN, Alhaji Sadiq Moyoyo, the team was at the chairman’s home at Abuja Phase three Jalingo.

Moyoyo in his remarks condoled the bereaved and prayed to God for comfort for the family. 

According to him, death was an inevitable end of every living thing. 

He stated that it was God’s will that the deceased died peacefully in her sleep, and that she could have died as a result of a protracted illness. 

“Nobody, not only SWAN members but even our colleagues in the office were shocked when we received the sudden death of your wife, as believers, all the two scriptures taught us to take the such incident as the will of God, therefore, I implore you to take it as that,” Moyoyo added.

Alhaji Sadiq Moyoyo who is also the Director of News, TSBS urged the Chairman to remain strong and advised him to always be in the mix of people to avoid loneliness.

In his response, the host, Taraba SWAN Chairman, Mr. Joachim Dangana recalled that when he lost his first wife, it took him about five (5) years before thought of getting another marriage. 

According to him, his late wife, Janet had been very supportive of him because she was instrumental in his occupying his new house. 

Mr. Dangana who is also a staff of Taraba State Broadcasting Service (TSBS), said he had taken it as the will of God and appreciated members of SWAN for identifying with him at this trying moment.
