The then Governor of Adamawa state has shown the common man, a true meaning of an ideal democracy where his administration prioritizes social amenities for its citizens as the cornerstone of his government.
As the first principal trained warfare and navigation officer of the Nigerian Navy, a one-time Commanding officer of the first Missile Carrying Ship of the Nigerian Navy, First Governor of Nigeria State, One time Chief of Naval Operations at the Naval headquarters, One time Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, One time Flag Officer Commanding the Naval Training Command, Former Chief of Naval Staff, former Deputy Chief of Defence Staff and member of the Armed Forces Ruling Council for over a decade, there’s no doubt that you are an accomplished and proficient Naval Sheriff.
Moreover, as an erudite farmer, he was the first to engage in a sustainable cross-breeding program of local cattle with exotic superior sires in 1990 with very satisfactory results. He was the first commercial exporter of musk melons to Europe using chartered aircraft in 1990, the first to export exotic Mangoes to Europe in 1993, and the sole owner of Sebore Export Processing Zone Farms which is among the largest dairy farms in Nigeria. We vividly recall how some of the financial proceeds from this business were used to pay school fees of thousands of students in tertiary institutions through the Sebore Foundation.
Undoubtedly, Nyako’s altruistic attitude is second to none, he helps in uplifting people in all areas as his administration opened doors for people to partake in the governmental decision making, and there is no iota of doubt that his administration is for all and sundry irrespective of religion, tribe or political inclination. Also, Youth and women empowerment programs that were established had become an integral part of his administration which have benefited all and reduced the great number of unemployed youth and poverty to its lowest earth birth.
Also, despite the political crisis that engulfed the then ruling party PDP in Adamawa, Nyako remains steadfast and does not in anyway relent in his plans in moving Adamawa to greater heights. The political differences between Nyako and the then-president Jonathan led to his impeachment in what most of us see as unfair and jungle justice. Even after that, Nyako continue to fight for the Adamawa people by joining the great political merger that form the ruling APC, surprisingly his candidate clinched the victory the then Bindow sidelined him for his selfish interest something that leads to his political downfall.
As an elder statesman, with vast experience in leadership and a proper understanding of the game of politics. the former governor of Adamawa Murtala Nyako helped coordinate the appearance of the ruling APC especially when the party was in turmoil. Nyako is one of the founding fathers of the APC who contributed immensely to the growth and development of the party. Though, the Buhari’s lead administration has abandoned the political master for its selfish and political motives.
Wholeheartedly, Nyako did an excellent job in the educational sector of the state. Our Primary and secondary schools were renovated and reconstructed that enabling a conducive learning environment all over the state. Also, a great number of teachers were employed which brings an end to the issue of lack of qualified teachers the major problem bedeviling our educational system. With that Nyako enjoyed massive and unalloyed support from the great people of Adamawa more than any other politician in the history of the state political scene.
lastly, Nyako remains the legendary, patriot and indeed a philanthropist as he is aging gracefully. His name must be written with a golden pen in the greatest history of Adamawa and Nigeria at large. He is no doubt the man who impacted positively on the lives of many We pray for Allah the Almighty to protect him from all evil and reward him abundantly for his kind humanitarian service. Our loyalty remains intact till the end till the end time.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has ushered in a new era of affordable transportation in Adamawa State with the introduction of Innoson’s Fresh Air buses.
These CNG coaches, capable of carrying 100 passengers each, have commenced operations to Mubi in the northern zone and Numan in the southern zone, receiving a warm reception from the public.
The decision to acquire these buses was a strategic response to the challenges posed by the removal of fuel subsidies, a move aimed at alleviating the increased transportation costs burden on citizens.
Prior to this initiative, the regular transportation fare from the state capital to Mubi and Numan Local Government Areas stood at 4,000 and 1,000 Naira, respectively.
With the introduction of the Fresh Air Buses, passengers can now enjoy a subsidized fare, with rates reduced by 50%. This means that the journey to Mubi now costs just 2,000 Naira, while the fare to Numan is a mere 500 Naira.
This substantial reduction in transportation costs is set to have a positive impact on the lives of the people of Adamawa State, making travel more affordable and accessible.
It also showcases the commitment of the government to improving the quality of life for its citizens, particularly in the face of economic challenges.

The first 100 days has given birth to innovations that are sustainable and reliable with the vision clearly spelt out in it’s short and long term programs summed up as “8point Agenda
The Governor’s administrative style has evolved into a philosophy that fellow comrades and team members have adopted as the project of ADAMAWAFIRST before self.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri came with the self-realization that we could fix our problems, resolve issues, enhance systems, empower personalities, stabilize structures to be physically positioned not just for unity but in alignment and in pursuit of a developmental master plan for a progressive and unified future.
The above mentioned can only be achieved if we tolerate and accommodate the views and expectations of others.
We must ensure that his philosophy moves from one community to the other incorporating different interest but achieving same goals of a better Adamawa than we met.
The government as a corporate entity also works with its citizens feedback and interest which differs from community to community, that is why projects may not be uniform because needs differs across board.
