Fintiri, Changing The Narrative In Adamawa

Spread the love

By Mubarak Shuaybu shelleng

Criticisms are inevitable but only reasonable once results in a positive result. Politicians that are fulfilling their campaign promises should be hailed, encouraged, and supported in all ramifications irrespective of their religion or political inclination. This is what we called free politics without bitterness and politics of development.

Unarguably, Fintiri’s first tenure at the dogirei government house must undoubtedly be tagged as most excellent and successful.

The exceptional construction of the flyover bridge in the heart of the Jimeta-Yola metropolis that eased vehicular movement has become one of its kind in the entire northeast. Also, rehabilitation of townships roads in various local government areas leads to mixed reactions from the public whether the After all the noise the project which is one of its kind has been well completed.

The physical infrastructural project laid down in the state portrayed governor Fintiri’s relentless effort and commitment toward the modernization process of the Jimena-Yola metropolis.
The governor has also ensured rehabilitation and construction of many township roads within the state including the abandoned shelleng township Road that suffered neglect in past. All in efforts to provide a good road network in the state.

Moreover, overhaul in the educational sector of the state includes rehabilitation and construction of new classrooms in the entire 21 local governments of the state. The administration has introduced free education for all and sundry that pave way for payment of SSCE and NECO to secondary school students and awards scholarships to indigenous students in various tertiary institutions, recruitment of over two Thousand Post-primary teachers, promotion and payment of arrears and earned allowances all in efforts to improve teachers welfare, easy accessibility to basic Education and environment for learning.

Furthermore, peace is considered insatiable and a panacea for attaining sustainable development which is why the governor has left no stone untouched in solving the insecurity issues. The security of the state has improved significantly due to the fact the governor tried and engaged major stakeholders, and traditional rulers in bringing an end to the communal clashes bedeviling people in mostly the suburbs part of Numan, Demsa, Lamurde, Mayo Belwa, and other parts of the state. The return of peace in those areas pave the ways for people to partake in the annual irrigation farming that boosts agricultural activities and food sufficiency in the State.

The current administration is certainly changing the narratives in the State because all the aforementioned projects were well implemented and it’s now a reality. In addition to that, the governor has never been disturbed by the activities of social media ranters and sponsored thugs who tried anything humanly possible to paint him black in the eyes of the respected citizens of Adamawa state, forgetting the role this administration is playing in improving their lives.

In the name of opposition, some ungrateful individuals were criticizing the governor’s recent decision in using the privately-owned station Gotel in Airing his achievement program than that of the state government-owned ABC and ATV broadcast stations.

The same people who supported the sponsored thugs that were involved in looting and annihilating governments’ properties during the lockdown. Those that Criticized government efforts of trying to create space for employment opportunities in the state. All in efforts to paint the governor black in the eyes of the public for selfish and political gains.

Besides, nobody is complaining about nonpayment of salaries and shortfalls, a nonchalant attitude towards the educational sector, abandoned dilapidated roads, and communal classes as experienced in the previous administration.

The giants strides recorded in his three years in office appear to be unique and outstanding which requires no further political analysis or explanation.

The incumbent governor has reshuffled the appearance of the state without making so much noise in the media. This is the administration that has a direct and positive influence on the life of a common man in Adamawa state.

Therefore, politicians in the state especially those vying for governorship positions have the constitutional right to do so but should get prepared on what to tell the people of Adamawa to be able to convince them to vote for them. The poor masses will then compare and contrast, analyze and judge fairly on which contestant to go for, but for now, Adamawa is safe in the hands of this current administration.

Above all, irrespective of a political party, religion, or tribe. Our priority is Adamawa of our dream with full realization of physical, infrastructural socio-economic, and political development.
