The eleventh National Female Qur’anic Recitation Competition for Non-Arabic Secondary Schools in Nigeria organised by the Association for Qur’anic Schools Recitation Competition of Nigeria RABIDA of the year twenty twenty two has been declared opened.
Declaring the programmme open at the Federal College Of Education FCE Yola, the National Chairman of RABIDA Gwani Shu’aibu Shehu Kano, challenged Muslims to support the organisation in all its activities as part of their contributions to Islam.
He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for for his support and cooperation to the event.
Speaking, Lamido Adamawa, Doctor Muhaammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdapha called on Muslims to fear Allah and purify their hearts in all their activities to enable them have better reward in the hereafter.
Represented by the District head of Yola and Chika Soro Adamawa, Lamido Adamawa reminded Muslims on the responsibilities bestowed on them by Allah to educate their children and wards.
The royal father who described death as inevitable, maintained educating the girl child is one of the way of making the society better.
Earlier, the chairman main organizing committee, Alhaji Gambo Jika said the essence of the competition is to instil the habit of Quranic recitation in the minds of female students from non-secondary schools in Nigeria.
In a goodwill message, representative of Council of Ulama Yola North local government area who is also the Chief Imam Jimeta Central Mosque, Ustaz Sufyan Iya Rumde, described Qur’an as guidance to mankind and stressed the need for Muslims to learn how to recite it correctly.
He called on Muslims to adhere to the guidelines of Recitation the holy Qur’an at all time.
In her remarks, the National Amiah of RABIDA Hajiya Fati Abubakar Girei who described the event as historic called on participants to see themselves as winners once they participate.

On his part, the Provost Federal College of Education FCE Yola, represented by Doctor Hassan Mubi, called on Muslims to use the period to pray for the country.
He said the College is proud to host such important and historical event.
Over twenty states are to participating in the Qur’anic Recitation competition which will be rounded off on Saturday.
Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Dami Mamza of the Catholic Diocese of Yola, recently led the faithful in celebrating the 2023 Solemnity of Christ the King in a grand manner.
The celebration, which took place on Sunday November 26th, was marked by a Eucharistic procession and benediction which started in St. Peter’s Minor Seminary, brought large numbers of the diocesan community.

The Executive Council of Local Government Preachers for Hajj and Umrah Adamawa State recently visited the Permanent Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu to inform him about their newly established organization and appoint him as a trustee.
The visit marked an important step in fostering collaboration between the Muslim Pilgrims Commission and the organization.
The organization led by its chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Dan Mama expressed gratitude to Malam Abubakar Salihu for his exceptional leadership and dedication to the Pilgrims Commission.
Dan Mama commends efforts of the Executive Secretary to ensuring smooth facilitation of the Hajj pilgrimage as well as his commitment to serving the Adamawa Pilgrims.
During the meeting, the Chairman informed Malam Salihu that their organisation aims to promote religious education for intending Pilgrims especially on Hajj and Umrah.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the organization and the Pilgrims Commission to enhance the overall experience of Pilgrims.
In recognition of Malam Salihu’s outstanding contributions and leadership, the Chairman said the delegation appointed him as a trustee of their organization.
According to him, the appointment signifies the trust and confidence they have in Malam Salihu’s ability to guide and support their initiatives.
Malam Abubakar expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him and assured the delegation of his commitment to supporting the organization’s goals and objectives.
He acknowledged the importance of imparting Hajj and Umrah education on intending Pilgrims to enable them perform acceptable Hajj and Umrah.
As a trustee, Malam Abubakar Salihu pledged to utilize his expertise and resources to assist the organization to achieving its mission.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Pilgrims Commission and the organisation to creating a harmonious and inclusive environment for all.
The visit signifies a significant step towards strengthening the bond between the Commission and the local government Preachers for Hajj and Umrah.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Tuesday says each of the 21 LGAs of Adamawa State will get government projects worth N1bn while some may get more than that in 2024.
Governor Fintiri stated this when he received the 122 members of the General Assembly of State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The body led by the State CAN Chairman, Bishop Dami Mamza was in the Government House, Yola to congratulate the Governor on his victory at the polls and the Tribunal.
Governor Umaru Fintiri says the government will manage the lean resources to touch the lives of people at the grassroots through the designed people’s oriented projects.
Fintiri appreciates the CAN leadership for the support and prayers to his administration, saying history will never forget its sacrifices towards his emergence as Governor.
The Governor told the CAN leadership that the present administration has recovered the state from hitherto its comatose condition, stressing that what he did in the last tenure was just a tip of the iceberg.
He said though, managing a mini Nigeria like Adamawa is not an easy task but through prayers and support of the diversed people in state, his administration is determined to perform more better.
Earlier in his remarks, the State Chairman of CAN, Bishop Dami Mamza said the religious body will indeed continue to pray and support Governor Fintiri to enable him succeed.
He notes that all parts of the state have felt the impact of this administration, asking the Governor to maintain the spirit and never allowed himself to be distracted by disgruntled elements.
