DSP Usman Abdullahi explained that already CP Abimbola Sokoya had sent the anti-bomb unit who are working round the clock to ensure that there are no remnants of the explosive, while the men of the State Investigation Bureau (SIB) are now going on intelligent aimed at unraveling sources behind the attack.

“As you know yesterday we recovered three corpses who were killed as a result of the explosion at Iware and almost nineteen persons injured who are currently receiving treatment at the FMC Jalingo, while later on, we got another woman who was also a victim of the explosion who later died while receiving treatment,

“so now the number has risen to six out of which five identified corpses have been claimed by their relatives while no claim to the one that is suspected to be one of the suspected bombers. The CP is preparing to visit the scene after which we will compile our report and submit it.” The PPRO revealed.

DSP Usman Abdullahi advised the general public to be calm and go about their normal businesses as the command has taken over the situation, as well as urged them to shun rumor-mongering, and posting of fake news on social media, and to be security conscious.

However, an eyewitness to the sad incident that pleaded anonymity said the bomb exploded at around four clock on Tuesday evening, and according to him about eleven people have feared dead while many sustained injuries.

The source noted that a teenager who is suspected to have detonated the Explosive device has been killed by the angry residents.

The incident happened at a local beer parlor close to Iware cattle market which is one of the economic hub zones in Ardokola Local Government Area of Taraba state that comes up every Tuesday about 30 kilometers away from Jalingo, the capital city.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Prof. Joseph Albasu Kunini (MP), has on Wednesday during a plenary session condemned in strong terms the bomb blast and described the act by the faceless people as bestial and inhuman, because the State has enjoyed relative peace.

He decried that the disdainful and dastardly act by the miscreants came at a time when the State Government has been doing everything humanly possible for peace to reign in the State and to ensure the security of the lives and property of the people.

Spread the love

The Senatorial Campaign Council of Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi in Southern Taraba has described the publication circulating in Punch online and other online platforms against the APC Senatorial candidate as fake, Baseless, misleading, and malicious.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Media and Strategic Communication of the Campaign Council, Tanko Kyen-Emoh Danjuma Ambi-Usi Jr. Esq.

The statement reads in parts: Dear Southern Tarabans, Teeming Supporters, Family, Friends, and well-wishers across the globe,

“Our attention has been drawn to a FAKE, BASELESS, MISLEADING, and MALICIOUS publication circulating in PUNCH online on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, and some online platforms with a rider:

“The All  Progressives Congress (APC) Southern Taraba Senatorial candidate, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi refutes completely this fake and malicious publication as it remains a figment of the imagination of those behind the publication.

“As a loyal and law-abiding Party man, Honourable Danjuma Usman denies the assertion alluded to him and put the authors of such fake and malicious publication to the strictest proof of same.

“We understand they resorted to their regular trademark of spewing a litany of lies from the pit of hell, cheap blackmail, name-calling, and red herring theatrics in a futile attempt to obfuscate and hoodwink soaring popularity of the Lawmaker and the All Progressives Congress on the true situation in the APC Taraba and as laid bare by Hon. Danjuma.

“For the record, Hon. Danjuma should not and cannot be used as a face or front to hide their monumental failures and mischief!

“We wish to state emphatically that this lame narrative is FAKE, FALSE, BASELESS, and LUDICROUS as the sterling, phenomenal, and quintessential Hon. Danjuma Usman  Shiddi a.k.a Danji SS is busy helping to build and consolidate the gains of the APC, Taraba State.

It pointed out that the federal lawmaker representing Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency also committed to making valuable contributions to the party at the national level – a monumental feat he is seeking to replicate in Southern Taraba Senatorial District, bringing home more dividends of legislative representation, and wishes to be allowed to focus on that.

The campaign council, therefore, urged both the discerning and unsuspecting public not to give any credence to this FAKE, FALSE, BASELESS and ILL- MOTIVATED publication that remains a lie from the pit of hell and a figment of the individual and collective imaginations of the authors.

“Just like LIGHT have always overcome DARKNESS, the TRUTH and TIME shall VINDICATE Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi,” the statement closed.

You’re Safe Under My Administration – Atiku Assures Nigerian Christians

Spread the love

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP,) and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has assured christians that they are very safe under his watch if elected President come next month.

He said as a born unifier, he believes in the integration of humanity at all levels and would do everything to promote unity in diversity.

Atiku was speaking in Jos while gracing the 2023 extra-ordinary General Church Council,GCC of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA.

Speaking through the former Speaker Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara, the former VP said God did not make any mistake in creating people and allowing them to belong to different tribal, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

According to him,’ a divided Nigeria cannot achieve the purpose of God for us as a people. a divided country will only keep us in darkness and disunity.

“All through my life I have lived and worked harmoniously with people of other faiths and ethnic affiliations with ease because of mutual understanding and respect.

“My business and political partners come from different backgrounds with zero expressions of religious or ethnic sentiments.

“I have never contemplated the same faith ticket throughout my political career. The Muslim Muslim ticket adopted by some people is a recipe for disaster.

” It is an indication that not everyone will be carried along in government. As Governor- elect of Adamawa in 1999, I gave my full backing to Boni Haruna to take over when

“I.was nominated Vice President against all odds. Boni governed Adamawa for 8 interrupted years. In Taraba, Rev Jolly Nyame was encouraged to contest the Governorship in 1999 just after losing the local government primary elections.

“We have and are working together with many Christians across the nation and the Church should have confidence in my capacity, experience and ability to deliver”.

Atiku appreciates Christians all over the nation for their prayers and commitment to the nation and assured that he will not relent in cementing a cordial relationship between Christians and Muslims all the time.

Speaking for himself, Dogara admonished Christians to take stock of what each Presidential candidate has done for Northern Christians and meditate on it.

Quoting copiously from the Bible, Dogara likened Atiku to the popular centurion servant in the Bible, whose faith was acknowledged by Jesus because of his determination to help across divides.

He said they settled for Atiku following a scientific analysis of the various candidates which was carried openly and which presented Atiku as the leading candidate in the contest.

” Don’t waste your votes by casting them elsewhere. We believe very strongly in coming together and living together. The Muslim- Muslim ticket is not an option at all.

“It does not give room for mutual understanding, unity , peace and stability. Atiku has great respect for northern Christians hence his choice of a Christian to deputise for him. We know him as a good man who has contributed in building the brethren and the church even as a Muslim.

He does not segregate and his experience and abilities speaks for him all the time.

According to Dogara, ” this period of gross darkness hovering over the nation must be overcome. We keep surviving one catastrophe and jumping to the other. Darkness is an evidence of the absence of light. We must lighten our lights and let them shine.

Atiku remains the Pan Nigeria candidate that has what it takes to move this nation forward by uniting us across the various divides we have found ourselves. Based on the scientific analysis inclusive of CAN leadership, we arrived at the choice of this man as a candidate to beat in the coming elections.

He apologized for the absence of Atiku and Okowa at the occasion saying they were in Ekiti for the nationwide Presidential rally.

In a remark, the President of ECWA, Rev Dr Stephen Baba Panya appreciates Atiku for finding time to give attention to what the church is doing and for sending eminent political leaders to grace the church’s GCC meeting.

He said the church is watching, monitoring, and listening to all the candidates and will make decisions according to its conviction soon.
