In politics, the majority and popular candidate dictates the tune and weight of the ballot box, which translates into winning election.

That’s why every political party whether in power or out of power will have to digest and x-ray its candidates before presenting them to electorates.

As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) releases time table for primaries, politicians jostling to clitch the ticket are making frantic efforts to secure the ticket, against all odds.

The case is no different in Adamawa PDP, as the billboards, posters and social media campaigns tell the story of the political atmosphere within the PDP ranks.

The intrigues and permutation ahead of the primaries no doubt gives all aspirants sleepless night wooing delegates and party stakeholders.

Today, one of the most talked about politician in Adamawa is Abba Girei, aspirant for Yola-North, Yola South, Girei Federal constituency.

Abba became a household name simply because of humanitarian gesture and high impact political mobilisation.

According to Hajiya Maimuna and Lidia Isah residents of Girei and Yola South LGAs who are both beneficiaries of the recent medical outreach of Abba says PDP will be more popular and acceptable if Abba Girei secures the ticket .

This and many others have attested to the fact that Abba Girei is the new Sharif in town when it comes to youth and women empowerment.

On Thursday May 12 2022, Abba Girei and other contestants will slog it out to be the flagbearer of the PDP for Yola South, Yola North and Girei Federal constituency, and for obvious reasons the pendulum seems to be swinging in the right direction for Abba.

For now the coast is clear, the people have spoken, what remains is for the PDP to look inwards and find a candidate that can add up with the growing popularity of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and DELIVER.
