By Usman Muhammad Salihu

Our contemporary Nigeria is in a sorry state as a result of Bad governance, Corruption, selfishness, regionalism among others.

In facing the reality in order to bring an end to the phenomena dragging our state backwards, we all have a role to play and that role is going back to drawing board and consider how our predate leaders coexist and rule the country.

Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello and our one and only prime minister Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa all rule, coexist and fight for the freedom of this country without showing any difference between them.

Our major challenge nowadays is the issue of insecurity in almost all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria. People were killed, raped, assassinated and kidnapped almost on daily basis.

So many factions arise such as bandits since the inception of Boko Haram insurgency in 2009.

These bandits nowadays make headlines of our major national dailies almost everyday. They attack people in their respective homes, on the way, airport and the recently rail attack along Abuja-Kaduna way, the rail that serve as a major and alternative to every Nigerian going Abuja-Kaduna.

The responsibility of bringing an end to the menace facing the country is in our hands and it’s through the voting in of capacitated, competent and able-bodied personalities to steer the affairs of the country irrespective of where they come from.

The media should also engage in setting the theory of enlighten the populace on the importance of exercising their franchise as general election is around the corner.

Our major role as Nigerians is to join hands together and use our PVC’s to vote out corrupt and incompetent leaders and bring in competent hands into power irrespective of our differences if possible let a youth handle it. A Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba or even from the minority tribes, all we are after is good governance.

Nigeria is tired of rotating power among elders who ruled out fathers, ruling us now and planning to rule the future generation and has nothing for the country rather for themselves.

With the above assertions if well put into practice, the story of challenges bedeviling our nation will certainly become a history.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has ushered in a new era of affordable transportation in Adamawa State with the introduction of Innoson’s Fresh Air buses.

These CNG coaches, capable of carrying 100 passengers each, have commenced operations to Mubi in the northern zone and Numan in the southern zone, receiving a warm reception from the public.

The decision to acquire these buses was a strategic response to the challenges posed by the removal of fuel subsidies, a move aimed at alleviating the increased transportation costs burden on citizens.

Prior to this initiative, the regular transportation fare from the state capital to Mubi and Numan Local Government Areas stood at 4,000 and 1,000 Naira, respectively.

With the introduction of the Fresh Air Buses, passengers can now enjoy a subsidized fare, with rates reduced by 50%. This means that the journey to Mubi now costs just 2,000 Naira, while the fare to Numan is a mere 500 Naira.

This substantial reduction in transportation costs is set to have a positive impact on the lives of the people of Adamawa State, making travel more affordable and accessible.
