Fintiri Approves N1.3b For Payment Of Gratuity, Other Retirement Benefits

Adamawa State government has concluded plans to release N1.3b for payment of gratuity arrears of retirees among other retirement benefits in the state.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had in 2020 approved N1.5b which paid the liabilities of about 660 pensioners who retired from 2009 to 2012.

Addressing, elders of Fali and Mayobani on a solidarity visit in the Conference hall government house, Yola Governor Umaru Fintiri said the measure is part of his administration’s welfare to retirees in the state.

Fintiri said his administration will continue to provide security to ensure zero crime in the society and thanked hunters and members of vigilante group for complementing efforts of security agencies.

The Governor said despite the lean resources, government under his watch has been trying to ensure fair distribution of projects across the state for development to thrive.

He told the delegation that government has approved rural feeder road from Mararraban Baza to Betso in Mubi North local government area and pledged to continue to provide dividends of democracy to the people.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman Fali/ Mayobani elders forum, Yarima Pius Shigiri thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for giving them enough security as they sleep with their two eyes close in their houses.

He saluted the giant strides of the present administration in the areas of road construction from Vimtim to Bazza, Ribawa to Muchala and providing free education to their children.

The chairman pleaded with the Governor to revitalize electricity and water systems at Betso, construct Bahuli road and others.

On his part, Mr Gobi Waba lauded Governor Fintiri for appointing sons and daughters of Fali, and ensuring employment of their youths, and pledged to rally round the Governor for reelection.

Fintiri Appoints Auwal SSG, Edgar Chief Of Staff, Ardo Head Of Service

Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the appointment of Hon Awwal D. Tukur as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).


Hon Awwal was a former Member of the House of Representatives and served as the Director General of the Adamawa Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council in the 2023 national elections.

Governor Fintiri has also approved the the appointment of Dr Edgar Amos as Chief of Staff Government House.

Following the appointment of Dr Amos who before now was the Head of Service, Shehu Isa Ardo takes over as Head of the Civil Service.
The appointments take immediate effect.

Gov. Agbu Appoints Retired CP, Abeh

Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas of Taraba State on Tuesday approved the appointment of Compol Agyole Abeh (Rtd) as the Commamder of Taraba Marshal Security Guards.

A statement signed and issued to journalists by the Secretary to the Government of the State, G.T Kataps said it is under Section 22 of the Taraba State Marshal Security Guards Law, 2021.

It said that the appointment was with immediate effect.

The statement added that” the General Public and all Security Agencies are to note.”

The new Taraba Marshal Security Guards’ Boss, Compol Agyole Abeh hails from Ibi LGA of the state and retired as a Commissioner of Police.

Abeh was enlisted in the service on January 1, 1984, as a pioneer cadet inspector and was trained at the Police College in kaduna State.

Abeh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art (Philosophy) from the University of Lagos and an Advance Diploma in Law Enforcement Administration from the same university.

He also attended Intermediate Management Course at the Centre of Excellence, Police Stability Concentrate Vincentia, Italy.

However, Abeh attended Senior Leadership and Strategic Course, at Police Staff College, Jos, and Senior Management Course in ASCON.

Agyole Abeh pull out from the Force in 2018 alongside nine other senior police officers after 35 years in service.

Adamawa Govt Unveils New Official Portrait For Fintiri

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved a new official portrait for display in all Public Offices, buildings and for other legitimate purposes.

In this regard, all Ministries, Departments, Agencies of Government, the Private Sector, Businesses and the Public are enjoined to obtain a complimentary copy of the portrait from the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor from next week Tuesday.
