Fintiri To New Perm Secs: Justify Your Performance In The Exam With Your Performance In Office

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state Monday swore into office ten newly appointed permanent secretaries at a colourful event that held in the Banquet Hall, Government House Yola.

They are Solomon Kumangar, Michael Medugu, Ibrahim Buba, Mamuda Mshelia, Alhassan Tahir, Linah Ndisah, Aishatu Rilwan, Yahaya Sule, Cletus Hilkiah and Mbi Deborah.

In his address, Governor Fintiri urged the appointees to justify their performance in the examination with their performance in office as according to him, leadership is about taking tasks at hand.

The Governor added that government under his watch has long recognized the significance of the civil policy and initiative to fruition hence its decision to repositioning the system.

Governor Umaru Fintiri said “the only way we can have a modern Civil Service is to have the required people needed to fulfil their talents. And to work for modern Adamawa.”

He said his administration has subdued mediocrity and upheld the triumph of merit in progression to deliver better, more responsive government
in the service for enhanced productivity.

“The civil service in Adamawa State has always been a dependable ally in our campaign, our strides in the health, education, security, youths and women empowerment, agriculture, civil service reform, internally generated revenue.

“From our rural and urban renewal
revenue, commerce and industry, environment and climate change, etc., We have determination to improve the living standard of our people,” he said.

Governor said the only way for mordern civil service is to drive reforms to make it deliver better and improved service, announcing that government will continue to ensure training, welfare and working condition of civil servants.

Earlier in his welcome address before ushering in the new permanent secretaries for swearing in, the Head of Service, Doctor Edgar Amos Sunday said the appointees have performed the best of the exam conducted.

Responding on behalf of other appointees, Alhaji Ibrahim Buba, General Manager Adamawa Television, ATV Yola thanked the Governor for finding them worthy to serve as permanent secretaries.

He assured the Governor that they will key into those robust policies and programmes of his administration to consolidate on the achievements so far recorded.

The oath of office and allegiance were administered on the new permanent secretaries by the state Attoney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Afraimu Jingi.

Bala Mohammed, 31 Bauchi Lawmakers Receive Certificate Of Return

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has presented Certificates of Return to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and thirty one newly elected members of the State House of Assembly.

This followed their declaration as the winners of the 18th March Governorship and State Assembly Elections in the state.

Receiving the certificate at the State INEC Headquarters, Governor Bala Mohammed assured to consolidate on the good governance established from the beginning of his administration towards sustainable development.

Bala Mohammed who expressed gratitude to the orderly and peaceful conduct of the election promised to reciprocate the collective effort of the common man through provision of people’s oriented projects across the state.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner Mohammed Nura said presentation of the Certificates of Return was in compliance with Electoral Act of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The Governor was there after received by a mammoth crowd of supporters and well wishers at the State Government House.

Adamawa Approves N899m Contract Variation For Mahmud Ribadu Square

The Adamawa State Executive Council has during its third meeting for the year approved N899m for the variation of contract for the rehabilitation of Mahmud Ribadu Square, Yola.

The meeting which was presided over by the president In council Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in the council Chamber Government House Yola also approved for the electrification of some communities.

Briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting, Commissioner of agriculture, Alhaji Umar Iya Daware said the council after due considerations of the three memos presented made the approvals.

The council he said approved the variation of contract for the rehabilitation of the mahmud ribadu square initially awarded to Mssrs Triacta Nigeria Ltd at one billion one hundred and fifty million three hundred and nineteen thousand to now two billion forty nine million naira only.

The variation according to him was considered due increase in scope of work to include renovation of VIP stand, rehabilitation of block wall fence, supply and installation of wire mesh fence, additional provision of car park and construction of Ibrahim Attah road covering seven hundred and fifty metres and construction of Tukur Muhd road covering three and fifty metres.

Alhaji Daware further revealed that the council after following due process awarded the contract for the electrification of Gorobi and Panti communities of Mayo Belwa to Mudaba Nigeria Ltd at over one hundred and fifty five million naira with a completion timeframe of three months

He also disclosed that Charlie Nigeria Ltd having met all the requirements was awarded the contract for the electrification of Maiha gari community of Maiha local government area at over two hundred and five million naira expected to be completed in four months.

The electrification projects, he stated are all abandoned projects that the present administration is working to achieve to ensure residents are connected to the national grid.

Chairman Conference Of Speakers Sent Congratulatory Message To Kano, Edo Speakers For Winning House Of Reps Seat

Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria and Speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman has congratulated the Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Hamisu and the Speaker Edo State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun for winning House of Representatives seats in the recently concluded National Assembly election.

In a congratulatory message to celebrate the Speakers’ victory, the Chairman stated that he was astonished upon receiving the news of the victory of the Speakers whom he described as dependable colleagues.

Speaker Abubakar Suleiman said that he is happy on the fact that the sacrifices and selfless service being rendered by Speakers of State Legislatures across the country are being recognized and reciprocated by the people.

He added that “Hon. Chidari is an epitome of humility, resilience and dedicated public servant. His election victory, against all odds is a testament of the fact he has positively impacted in the lives of his Constituency and State at large.

“We extend our felicitations to him for this great success and opportunity to contribute more to nation building. We also commend the good people of your Constituency for once again trusting you to represent them in the National Assembly.”

According to the Chairman, “Speaker of Edo Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun is a man of destiny. He and I shared similar political history. I wasn’t surprised about his victory in the election because I know how versatile and patriotic he is. His people made a right choice and I commend and thank them most sincerely.”

The Chairman after praying for a successful reign in the National Assembly, urged them to redouble their effort in bringing development and prosperity to their Constituencies and the Country at large.
