The Taraba State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi has described President Muhammadu’s assented to the Electoral Act Amendment Bill into Law as a fulfillment of one of the cardinal promises the President made and has fulfilled.
El-Sudi made this statement while speaking to journalists when he and other party Executives received a Southern Taraba Senatorial aspirant, Mr. David Jimkuti at the APC State Secretariat in Jalingo on Saturday.
” We are very elated because this is what APC has been advocating for, and it was one of the promises the President has made and he has fulfilled it.” Said El-Sudi.
According to the Chairman, the signing of the electoral act amendment bill into law by President Buhari has ushered in a new era in the political firmament, saying that with this development people must go to the grassroots and genuinely seek votes as there will be no more rigging.
While intimating to the Aspirant that APC in Taraba State is operating as a family, El-Sudi also promised to support him succeed in his Senatorial ambition.
Commenting on the online registration of voter cards, Barrister Ibrahim El-Sudi revealed that the party has developed its members that have ICT knowledge to the grassroots to ensure that people are registered to enable them to vote out the ruling party PDP comes 2023 in the state.
Hon. David Jimkuti landed at Danbaba Suntai Airport Jalingo at around 11:21 am alongside his entourage, and was received by a large number of supporters from where they proceeded to the APC Secretariat.
Addressing the gathering, the Southern Taraba Senatorial Aspirant, Mr. David Jimkuti informed the party Executives and his supporters that he was at the secretariat to declare his intention to join the race for the 2023 Senatorial election to represent his people at Nigeria’s Red Chamber.
According to him, his homecoming was to answer the call of his people who knew his capacity and experience of haven worked at both the National and International levels.
” You will agree with me, the Taraba South where am coming from, we did not feel the impact of the Senate. Number one, the issue of job creation, two, representation, if you can see in southern Taraba or the whole of Taraba state we don’t have any Executive Secretary and we have qualified people to represent agencies in the federal but we are been short change, and that is the responsibility of some our leaders there.
” I know the game, I’m in the game, and I have some of my mentors like Rt. Hon. Samuel Bako Lalong, the Executive Governor of Plateau State who taught me so many things that am going to use to bring development to Southern Taraba if elected as Senator.
” There are impacts projects that HE Lalong and the Senator got to Plateau state such as the Federal College of Education, the Universities, and recently the established Law School among others which Taraba is going to benefit too because we are neighbors.
On how prepared the young vibrant aspirant is, he said ” As far as am concerned, I’m the only one in southern Taraba that is contesting for the senate as you heard from our state party chairman am the first to declare my intention in APC but from the opposition, I don’t know. So, am prepared, am not only prepared because I want to contest but if you heard me the other time, I said I answered a call from critical stakeholders including women and youths, and I answered.” Said Jimkuti.
He promised that if elected they would join hands with the incoming APC Governor to rescue Taraba, especially in the areas that include education, infrastructure, job creation for the youth, women empowerment as well as free healthcare service delivery.
Hon. David Jimkuti who’s slogan is “IMPACT 2023”, however, commended President Buhari for signing the electoral arc amendment bill into law, saying that the President has showed the world that he loves Nigerians and he wants to protect the interest of every contestant.
” It will go down in history that 2023, the President what he demonstrated yesterday will go a long way. Rigging is over.” He is optimistic.
Our Correspondent gathered that Hon. David Jimkuti hails from Takum, the same local government area with the incumbent Governor, Darius Ishaku who will also join the senatorial race after the aspiration of his tenure in 2023.
