A Retired Army General, and Famous Philanthropist, Theophilus Danjuma, has said that local dialect is effective key in the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The General, disclosed this in Takum local government area of Taraba State, during the official commissioning ceremony of the Jukun Bible Institute which he built in the area.
Commissioning the institute the retired General TY Danjuma expressed hope that it will remedy the failure on the part of the people to adequately utilize the local Jukun dialect in the propagation of the gospel.
He said the institute will also go a long way to salvage the Jukun dialect from going in to extinct.
According to TY Danjuma, the institute is a dawn of new era and a revolution which must be embraced and added that people must bear in mind that they were not in to competition but facilitating the spread of the gospel.
He called on the people to ensure utilizing the publications that will be coming out from the institute and not to store them up in the book shops.
The Taraba State Governor Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, represented by the Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Hon Anthony Jellason, thanked the retired General TY Danjuma for the impact he has been making in the state, and prayed God to bless him with sound health and long life.
In an exhortation at the Programme, the CRC-N President Rev Dr Isaiah Magaji Jirapye who doubled as CAN chairman of Taraba State, read from Second Samuel chapter 6 verse 16, and spoke on the theme, glory be to God for a dream come true.
He paid tribute to General TY Danjuma for building the institute for the propagation of the gospel describing the gesture as investment in the Kingdom of God.
During the Programme, the Executive Director of Nigerian Bible Translation Trust, Jos Plateau state, Mrs Patience Markus, the CRC-N, RCCN Anglican, and Catholic churches, delivered good will messages and described the project as first of it kind.
The Director of the Institute, Mr Nahum Haruna Angyu and other dignitaries at the Programme spoke on the significance of the institute and gave the general a pact on the back for the actualizing to vision.
The Jukun Bible Institute started in 1956 as the Jukun Bible translation project initiated by an American missionary Margaret Dykestra.
Retired General TY Danjuma has been working to sustain the vision since the departure of the missionary back to America, and the building of the institute is among his commitment.
