~ Says clamour for power shift to Adamawa central legitimate

The member representing Ganye, Jada, Toungo and Mayo Belwa federal constituency in the house of representatives, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas has today distributed Honda Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to 23 district heads in his constituency.

During the occasion, Namdas also distributed 100 sewing machines, 100 grinding machines and 1,100 assorted seedlings to the executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the four local governments of the constituency.

“This is my fifth empowerment, I have decided to share vehicles to all the 23 district heads of my constituency. Of course we are able to give 18 because the five in Mayo Belwa are under a different emirate. So we will take the permission of the leader of that emirate Lamido of Adamawa and we will do the presentation next time.

“As usual we presented to the exco of my party grinding machines, sewing machines and seedlings so that they can use it for their good. This year we will do the same thing,” he said.

When asked to comment on the renewed clamour for power shift to Adamawa central zone, Namdas said the agitation was a legitimate means of seeking power.

“The move is a legitimate means of getting power. People can advocate for anything. However, it is left for the people of Adamawa State to decide were the governor comes from.

“It should be noted that the mere fact that you are advocating does not mean you’re preventing anyone from contesting and if you get through that is good.

“We have no reason to fight anyone seeking office anywhere but however I’m also seeking to govern the state.

“We are in the same party whichever way you want to follow as long as it is legitimate, I have no problem with that. At the nick of time, all we want is to win election,” he said.

Also making case for the legibility of his zone to be given the chance if sentiments for low number of governors is the yardstick, Namdas said, Adamawa south only tasted the governorship of the state once since it’s creation in 1991.

“Adamawa was created in 1991 and we had taste of this leadership only once that is Murtala Nyako because Bamanga Tukur was elected as Gongola State governor,” he said.

Namdas who expressed confidence that the national convention of APC will take place in February, said, those afraid of the rising profile of the his party are the ones spreading misinformation to the effect that the convention will not hold.

“I have to believe my leaders that our convention is taking place in February unless they informed me otherwise. I have no reason to doubt the February convention. But people who are afraid of our party are spreading such lies,” he added.

Also speaking, APC ALGON chairman in Adamawa State, Abubakar Audu lauded Namdas for his spiritedness, valour and faith in the party adding that he is the only one among aspirants that has kept the party’s flag flying.

He said as a grassroot politician, the whispers they are getting from the common man signals that Namdas’ move to rule the state is on track.

Audu urged the party to ensure that it fielded a candidate that has the backing and acceptance of the people so as not to fritter away its chances.

Also speaking, Adamawa State chairman of APC, Ibrahim Bilal thanked Namdas for the numerous empowerment packages he brought to the people adding that today’s empowerment marked the 8th time Namdas is inviting him to witness such programs.

He thanked the lawmaker for his show of maturity, and politics without bitterness urging other politicians to emulate him.

“Namdas has told me that he will remain faithful to our party whether he gets the ticket or not. If other politicians are like him, winning the next election will not be a Yeoman’s job,” he said.

Various stakeholders including Ahmed Wangubi, Halima Hayatu, Aminu Bobboi, Barr. Ibrahim Tahir, Hon. Abdurrahman Shuaibu and Adamu Gombe all paid glowing tributes on Namdas saying he remains the candidate to beat come 2023.

District head of Gurumpawo, Alhaji Hammantukur Mohammed Gurumpawo who spoke on behalf of beneficiaries thanked the lawmaker for the gesture.

He promised the lawmaker that the vehicles will be judiciously used by the traditional rulers.
