The Taraba State Chapter of All Progressives Congress APC home-based Stakeholders and Contestants Forum has distanced itself from what it called Kangaroo Congress that said to have been held on Sunday 25th October 2021 to elect officials that will lead the affairs of the party for the next three years.

Briefing newsmen on Monday in Jalingo, the Secretary of the Forum, Hon. Sani Abdullahi Tullu said that the whole process was null and void as it floats the constitution of the APC as well as electoral guidelines in the sane society.

According to him, they have resolved more than ever to before to fight what they called glaring injustice to whatever level to reposition the party to reclaim its lost glory in Taraba and inject fresh air into the suffering citizens of the state.

“APC members in Taraba State should rise to the challenge and wake up from their slumber to cease the party from the stranglehold of usurpers who are bent on foisting themselves on the party at all cost.

” They are middlemen and collaborators who are bent on thwarting the political fortunes of the party ahead of 2023 general elections.” Said Tullu.

He informed that as law-abiding citizens, the forum would do everything possible to respect the orders of the court to deepen democracy and ensure the attainment of organizational objectives and the ideals of the party, particularly, promoting internal democracy, rule of law, and supremacy of APC in the state.

The Forum, however, called enjoined concerned members of the party to remain steadfast and law-abidingg, assuring that they will pursue their legitimate rights for a stable, virile, and prosperous party.

“For the avoidance If doubt, we restate that at the commencement of the on-going congress of APC in the state from the Ward, Local Government to the State level, the whole thing was more of a charade as list of delegates and contestants for the whole offices were shrouded in mystery as nothing was unveiled to provide opportunity for claims and objections to prove their mettle and showcase their vision;

“manifestos and talents to prospective electorate in the party to take informed decision. The forum stated.

“A stitch to in time saves nine,” said Tullu.

Recalled that on Sunday 24th October, 2021 the leader of the party in Taraba state, Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf said that the party had resolved to go with affirmation rather than the tedious election process with the consent of all critical stakeholders of the party.

Our Correspondent reports that the affirmation was done at Joro Yuno in Ardo Kola local government area of the state under the leadership of the congress committee, Mr. Tinjani Tumsa on Sunday.

Reverend Father Maurice Kwairanga, the Parish Priest of Saint Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Ngurore is emphasizing the need for educational reform in Nigeria, rather than just changing the national anthem.

He believes that the energy spent on changing the anthem could have been better spent addressing the issues in the education system, such as decay in public schools and institutions.

The priest said this during a mass to commemorate Saint Charles Lwanga Day and also unveiled a learning institute to address the decaying standard of education across the country.

He said it is worrisome that structures in public schools are now death traps, and unqualified teachers are now mentors of the younger generation.

He said the church has taken the initiative to establish a new school, Saint Charles Lwanga Nursery, primary school, and college, to contribute to improving education in the country.

“We will build a world-class school in this part of Nigeria. As a church, we might not have the funds at the moment, but we have the will to do it. The Saint Charles Lwanga Nursery and Primary will have all the modern teaching equipment and qualified teachers, unlike what is obtainable in the public schools”

His message highlights the importance of prioritizing education to drive meaningful change and development in Nigeria.

As a church leader, he lent his voice in calling for patriotic Nigerians to invest in education by supporting initiatives that will strengthen the sector and improve the standard of education.

Highlights of the Saint Charles Lwanga Day in Ngurore were traditional dances from different communities.
