Gov Inuwa Flags Off Building Of Tsangaya MEGA School In Gombe

Gombe State Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa has laid the foundation of building Tsangaya MEGA school under the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme in the state.

Laying the foundation ceremony of Almajiri MEGA school at Tsangayar Goni Sani (Universityn Almajirai). Its one of the largest Tsangaya School in West Africa, some call it ‘University of Harji’, Thursday, Governor Yahaya reiterated the commitment of his administration to transform tsangaya education in the state.

Immediately after laying the foundation ceremony Governor Yahaya held an interactive session with traditional Qur’anic School Teachers in Gombe State.

The theme of the interactive session is towards transforming tsangaya system to the needs of the 21st century.

Yahaya said the aim of the interactive session is to equipped the tsangaya teachers to improve their skills in order to meet the needs of teaching in the 21st century as part of effort to transform the system.

Governor Yahaya reiterated the commitment of his administration to transforming the education sector in the state, and commended the successes recorded under BESDA programme in the state.

He said, “Under the BESDA programme, 676 learning centers for boys and girls pupils were established, 170,000 pupils and girl-child enrolled in the centers and 1600 NCE teachers were employed to teach western education in the state and 15,000 thousand tsangaya School proprietors receive allowances and government is working to improve the allowances of the Alarammas.”

He commended traditional Qur’anic School owners for their support to the programme, said many Islamic countries came with policies that ease the learning process in tsangaya schools, their students learn both western and Islamic Education.

He said we should focus and takes what is good that concerns us and leave what is not good that doesn’t concern us.

Governor Yahaya said, “We value and cherish traditional tsangaya education is the oldest but because of modernisation we have to do our best to improve them to attain the highest standard.”

Governor said in the new schools the pupils and students apart from learning Quranic memorization we introduce teaching of English and arithmetic to learn western education.

Mrs Amina Buba Haruna coordinator BESDA at the Federal Ministry of Education commended the Gombe State government for transforming the almajiri system by giving the.Almajiri special recognition and change their status through BESDA programmers.

She said Almajiri are our children they are our children we need to support them interact with them and help them to get more brighter future.

Guest speaker at the occasion Professor Bashir Galadanchi urged Tsangaya school owners to continue to embrace government policies and programmes aimed at developing the skills and capacity of their pupils towards improvement of standard of living.

Professor Bashir advised Qur’anic teachers and pupils to learn the skills they need to succeed in tomorrow’s competitive world by rethinking yesterday’s teaching practices.

The scholar urged government and the society to support Quranic schools to enable them excel in today’s society, even as he urged government to provide social amenities to its citizenry.

Gombe State Project Coordinator of BESDA Dr Abdullahi Bappah Ahmed Garkuwa commended Governor Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya for his support towards the development of education in the state.

Dr Garkuwa advised participants to cooperate more with laudable programmes of BESDA to improve the education of their children.

Dr Garkuwa stressed the importance of seeking for Quranic education and urged the Tsangaya school proprietprs to embrace all educational programmes that come for the development of society.

He said western education introduced in schools under BESDA programmes are aimed at providing technical and skilled knowledge that will improve the living standard of the society.

Insurgents Are Again Responsible For Michika Blackout – Fintiri

Boko Haram insurgents have again vandalised the lines that generated power from Danboa substation in Borno State to Michika and environs in Adamawa State.

The State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had in July, 2020 commissioned the rehabilitated power sub-station for Michika and Madagali local government areas at the cost of N283.8m.

Before the rehabilitation, it was Boko Haram insurgents that damaged the power lines and installations which cut off power supply from the national grid subjecting the people to a total blackout for over 6 years.

As if that damage was not enough, after the rehabilitation, the insurgents have again destroyed the power lines from Danboa substation.

Fintiri disclosed this at Madzi Development Area in Michika while canvassing votes for the PDP candidates ahead of the forthcoming February and March elections in the country.

Governor Fintiri told the residents that the military has assured him that normalcy has been restored in that area and has given go ahead to the Government to recconect the power lines, promising to act in that regard.

“We have rehabilitated electricity in Michika and Madagali. 2 years ago, Boko Haram insurgents have again destroyed the power lines, coming from Danboa.

“I spoke with Brigade Commander, he told me that they have taken over the bushes around Danboa from Boko Haram and we should send personnel to reconnect the lines,” he said.

In his remarks, Honourable Zira Wampa who spoke on behalf of the communities, assured Governor Fintiri their readiness to deliver him, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP candidates in next elections.

Meanwhile, Governor Fintiri has assured the people of Bazza Development Area that his administration will build roads in the area having constructed many in Michika town and environs.

Governor Fintiri who disclosed this when he takes campaign train of the PDP to canvassing for votes, reminded the people the giant strides of his administration in the areas of education, security, health and Infrastructure among others.

He asked especially the women folk to take advantage of the Government’s Health Insurance Programme and register for free medical services to pregnant ones among them, children from five years and below, the aged and displaced persons.

“I will continue to protect your lives and property. We achieve much in all sectors. We improve payment of pension and gratuity. We have commenced salary payment with minimum wage for workers at the local government level alongside gratuity,” he said.

Former Deputy Governor of the Defunct Gongola State, Barrister David Barau said the people of Bazza will no doubt support Governor Umaru Fintiri in the March election, because of his excellence performance and character worthiness.

“The reasons for our promise to support you are one; excellent performance, two;
Numerous dividends of democracy in the areas of security and health as well as your competence, capacity, knowledge and reliability,” said Barau.

In their separate remarks, Hon. Michael Zirra, Ayuba Fari and Captain Altine Inuwa among other speakers vowed to deliver Governor Fintiri and all PDP Candidates describing Bazza as a stronghold of the party.

We’ll Soon Flag Off Michika-Kamale Road Project – Gov Fintiri

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Friday announced readiness of the State government to award contract for road project from Michika to Kamale.

The Governor disclosed this in Garta, Michika local government area when he led campaign train of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to canvass for votes ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The Governor said arrangements are in the pipeline to execute the road project with three bridges as according to him survey has already been conducted by the government.

“I want to assure you the people of Garta, we have commenced plans to award contract of this road. By the Grace of God, we will begin the work in the next one or two months,” said Fintiri.

On the request by the community for lifting of ban on the use of mortocycle in Garta and environs, Governor Fintiri promised to make consultations and see the possibility or otherwise of the issue.

In their separate remarks, Hon. Yakubu Tsala, former Managing Director Nigeria Sugar Council and former federal lawmaker, Adamu Kamale assured block votes of the people to Governor Fintiri and other PDP candidates.

Highlight of the rally was handing over of 18 seater bus to Governor Fintiri to help the PDP campaign train by Dr Williams Kamale among other gifts presented as well as various cultural dance.

Michika Agog As Crowd Storms PDP Rally To Welcome Gov Fintiri

In what many residents of Michika described as mother of all rallies, supporters of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday afternoon stormed the campaign gathering at the centre of the town.

Upon his arrival to Michika town from Garta, Governor Umaru Fintiri was received by the people who came out en masse from all conners and proceeded to accompany him in droves to the venue of the campaign rally.

Speaking at the event, Governor Fintiri appreciated the people for the show of love and solidarity, promising to continue to make them proud by working for their welfare and development of Michika.

“I will continue to work for you and make you proud. My administration has restored security and today we sleep with our two eyes close. We will continue to fight these miscreants,” said Governor Fintiri.

Fintiri added that, “we will continue to make education free. We’ll make sure that the children of the poor get quality and affordable education across the state.”

He called on the people to vote for Atiku Abubakar as next Nigeria’s President to end the current hardships brought upon on the citizens by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government.

“Let’s continue to fast and pray so that we will get a leader that will bring socour to us. Let’s pray and fast so that we’ll get a leader that will end killings of our brothers and sisters. We will never elect APC again,” he said.

The State Chairman of PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu has presented flag to Zakari Dauda Nyampa, and Moses Yarima as PDP candidates for House of Representatives and State Assembly respectively.

PDP Chairman in Michika, Emmanuel Simbus lauded Fintiri for executing road projects in the area and appointed their sons and daughters into key positions of government.

The Commissioner of Finance and Budget, Dr Ishaya Dabari, and Peter Salihu Gogura both said Governor Fintiri does not need to campaign in Michika as they are set to pay him back by voting him massively.
