The Media Officer of Adamawa Queens Football Club, Miss Jawarti Jankati has distanced herself from being part of the Communique drafted by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN, Adamawa State Chapter calling for the removal of the Chairman, Adamawa United FC, Mr. Emmanuel Zira.
In a statement signed and made available to SAHEL REPORTERS, Jankati said she does not have a hand nor a part of the plot to discredit efforts of the Chairman of Adamawa United FC, Mr. Emmanuel Zira.
She stressed that the plot began when a Congress of SWAN was summoned and the attendance was poor as quorum was not formed, adding that the determination to go ahead with the hatchet plot did not count and the number did not deter the plotters from going ahead with the meeting.
Her words “First, I was asked to Chair a communique drafting committee and after suspecting that it was meant to create mischief and deliberately rubbish the effort of management of Adamawa United FC led by Mr. Emmanuel Zira I turned down the offer and gave my reasons.
“I want to categorically say that what was contained in the communique was totally not what was agreed on. Secondly, I did not see the communique nor did I signed any communique.
“I therefore distance myself from the said Communique by SWAN, Adamawa Chapter and urged SWAN not to drag me into whatever grudge they have against Adamawa United FC or it’s Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Zira.
According to Jawarti Jankati, the communique was meant to implicate her as a mischievous character, saying that she can not remember when the Congress agreed on the Sack of the Chairman of Adamawa United Football Club, Mr. Emmanuel Zira.
“Rather, it was Austin Ajayi, who single handedly voiced out that the Chairman should be sacked for his selfish reasons.
“I therefore disassociate myself from the communique and call on those who are bent on sacking Emmanuel Zira, as Chairman, Adamawa United FC and others not to get me involved in their wild goose chase.
In a telephone conversation, Mr. Austin Ajayi who was accused by the media officer of Adamawa Queens that he single handedly voiced out that the Chairman of the football Club should be sacked said, Jawarti was telling lies and insisted that she was at the Congress and even served as Chairperson of the Communique drafting committee.
Ajayi who is the National Welfare Officer however, announced that Jawarti Jankati who is from FRCN, Fombina Fm NUJ Chapel, and a member of SWAN was suspended by the state chapter of SWAN based on what he called ‘Betrayal and Denial of her constituency’, while he urged the public to disregard the statement she issued.
However, the Adamawa State SWAN Chairman, Mr. Samuel Gangwaja also through a telephone told our correspondent that the association did not suspend the Media Officer of Adamawa Queens, Jawarti Jankati because she had been attending meetings but he confirmed the suspension of the Media Officer of Adamawa United Football Club, Kissinger Bukar whom he said have not been attending meetings since he lost election in January, 2021.
” What is the SWAN Status said? If you are not attending meetings for six months you should be suspended but we then even agreed on seven months, so since when I was sworn in as Chairman in January Kissinger did not come for any meeting, I called him and told him that he should be coming but it seems he was afraid perhaps I wanted to remove him from the Adamawa United FC which totally wrong perception.
“So, when we met yesterday Saturday, 28/8/2021 and members moved a motion for his suspension I have no option than to follow the SWAN Statues. I swear we have never thought of removing Kissinger or Jawarti but we only called him to sit with us, but Kissinger refused to come. They are our members and we loved them,” Gangwaja revealed.
Commenting on the issue of Communique issued by SWAN on the tussle between the association and the management of Adamawa United FC, the Chairman said there is nothing but because of poor leadership of the football club, emphasizing that SWAN will not fold its arms and allow some individuals to ruin sports development in the state.

Recalled that Governor Darius Ishaku had recently appointed his Senior Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa as the state Chairman of the party, a move some people described as trying to control the party machinery even after leaving office on May 29th.
When contacted through telephone, the embattled party Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa confirmed that he was aware of the court case but did not receive any surmon.
“Frankly speaking I don’t know anything but I heard that I was taken to court but nobody bring a surmon to me, nobody call me and I did not go to the court, that is the only thing I know,” Bawa added.
When asked whether he will still go to the office on Monday, Abubakar Bawa said “I am a law-abiding citizen, so, since the court has given an order I will comply.”
