Adamawa State Bureau of Public Procurement, ADSBPP Thursday launched its online medium, E-Procurement Go-Live.
With the development, the state government now runs business with other business partners online across the country where bidding can be haggled as coordinated by the ADSBPP.
Speaking, Steering Committee Chairman of State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability SFTAS Mr. Doctor Ishaya John Dabari while declaring open the launch of the state E-procurement assured Adamawa citizens of prudent and accountable governance.
Doctor Dabari urged the Director General of the bureau and members of the board of committee to facility training and retraining of the staff to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
In a remark during the event held at American University of Nigeria, AUN Hotel Club, the Director General, ADSBPP, Mr. Abba Bello Umar expressed delight over the successful launching of the state E-procurement Go-Live.
Mr. Umar explained that the development is in compliance with the World Bank and Federal Government’s frame work for state Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability Program aimed at measuring government performance in terms of transparent public financial management.
According to him, the E-procurement is a globally acceptable electronic form of doing business that eliminates sharp practices,ensures transparency and prompt delivery of result.
The Director General disclosed that already the bureau has earmarked four Ministries as pilot project to include Works, Finance, Health and Education.
Bello Umar stated that government has provided Adamawa state with the fully fortified E-procurement facilities for all day round operations in the Pilot Ministries even when there is blackout.
He added that the Bureau intends to extend the services to other Ministries, Department and Agencies, MDAs across the state including local government councils.
Similarly, Umar said the procurement officers to handle the e-facilities have so far been trained alongside their colleagues from other Ministries, Department and Agencies, MDAs.
The DG saluted governor Fintiri for championing the speedy passage of the ADSBPP bill while he was speaker, Adamawa state House of Assembly a development he described as a step in a direction.
In his presentation, the Lead Consultant Mr. Kehinde Kasim enumerated the processes and procedures involved in creating a demo and registering online.
