Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has again stressed that he will never be part of those that will leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), rather vowed to strengthen the party in Adamawa.
The Governor made this known when he received members of the Board of Trustees Of PDP led by its chairman Doctor Walid Jibrin on a courtesy call in the Government House, Yola Saturday.
He told the BOT members that his administration’s giant strides have brought back into PDP folk, former party members, declaring that many are still coming and the party is ready to accommodate them and others wishing to join in.
Governor Umaru Fintiri added that the direction of voters in Adamawa is with PDP and the present administration will continue to weakening the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state through delivering purposeful leadership.
He believed that PDP will wax stronger and bounce back to takeover the leadership of the country in 2023, as according to him Nigerians who are tired of APC are indeed anxious for a change in that regard.
He urged the BOT members to put more efforts and bring members of the party together reminding them not to mind the exit of some few governors, as they will neither affect the futunes of the PDP nor add value to APC.
Governor Umaru Fintiri stressed that God is the Giver of power and as the APC won elections in 2015 with few governors in its folk, PDP will no doubt get it easy to takeover power in 2023 as APC has failed Nigerians.
He called for reconciliation and building the PDP to become a big family so that when it wins elections, the party will be able to manage its success as according to the Governor failure to manage a succes is a fundamental problem.
While reminding the PDP elders on selection of Alhaji Auwal Tukur into BOT replacing Grace Folashade Bent who defected from the party, Governor Fintiri beleived that the nominee will make it owing to his intelligence and versatile experience.
Governor Umaru Fintiri expressed dismay on the direction of APC lawmakers in the national Assembly on the amendment of the electoral act bill which he described as shameful, saying technogically wise the country is riped for electronic voting system.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of PDP BOT, Doctor Walid Jibrin said the visit was one of the major decisions taken by the members to tour all the theirteen PDP governors to foster unity and cooperation for good working relationship among all organs of the party.
He said Adamawa is rated as one of the most peaceful state in the country, due to good leadership of Governor Fintiri who is certainly very quiet achiever in the economic, social, agricultural, educational and road projects being executed.
Doctor Jibrin believed that Governor Fintiri being a very responsible and respected Governor will use his position to encourage BOT good working relationship with the PDP governors through their forum.
He said BOT has set a progressive plan to meet with the National Working Committee (NWC), governors’ forum, the National Assembly and some prominent elders with a view to make PDP strongest to win all elections in 2023.
