Taraba APC Blasts Gov Ishaku Over Claims Of Projects Execution

Spread the love

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Taraba State chapter on Friday debunked the outrageous claims by the state Governor, Darius Ishaku in a trending video that he has executed projects in all wards of the state.

The state Chairman of the party, Barrister Ibrahim El-Sudi who disclosed this at a press briefing held at the party’s Secretariat in Jalingo said that the state is at present the least developed in the entire North-east region.

He said the governor’s claims of bringing development to all parts of the state is not only total falsehood but a deliberate move to mislead the world.

El-Sudi said that in the last six years of Governor Ishaku’s administration, even the infrastructure put in place by the previous administrations are in total dilapidated condition as a result lack of maintenance.

According to him, the government’s lack of commitment towards the security of lives and property of the people has made it impossible for investors to come into the state.

El-sudi who played the video clip from his phone cell for journalists where governor Darius Ishaku granted an interview for one of the national TV stations saying he has executed projects in all the wards of the state, described it as unfortunate and deliberate move to mislead the public.

He maintained that: I would have expected the governor to tell the world in that interview about how he would improve the security of the state and attract investors, rather than telling the people that Taraba state is a civil service state and so there is nothing there.

He informed that the state has abundant natural resources and his inability as Governor to harness those resources attests to his incompetence.

The Chairman challenged the governor to revive moribund companies in the state, citing example with states like Gombe, Borno and others that are ravaged by insurgency but are still able to do so much and put in place a few companies, asking that why can’t he do same in Taraba?

“There is no sector in the state that can boast of any meaningful Development. Even the renovation at three general hospitals in the state is cosmetic. Students at the state owned University have never had it this bad, with series and series of strikes. There are places in this state that you can not even access for lack of access roads.

” It is very sad. It is also most unfortunate that rather than bring all the stakeholders together to chat a new course for the state, the governor has chosen to tread the path of openly lying to the whole world on the state of things”.

Barrister Ibrahim El-sudi however, called on the governor to call a press conference to retrieve his lies and tell the the truth if not they will sponsor journalists to embark on tour with a view to find out all the projects he claimed and inform the world.

On the inhouse crisis of APC in the state, the Chairman said that the party was “working hard to heal the wounds of the past and a fifteen man committee has been put in place who are working hard to make sure that the party become very strong comes 2023 to take over the state and bring succur to the people”.

Meanwhile, the APC Chairman further revealed that ruling PDP in the state has really campaigned for them by their abisimally performance as many politicians from PDP including serving members of both National and State Assemblies have shown a strong interest to join APC.

” A lot of PDP members including House of Representatives and State House of Assembly members have indicated a strong interest of joining us and we are in contact with them but i will not mention names because if they come out now their seats will be declared vacant but they will announce it at the appropriate time”. Said El-sudi.

Reacting to the comments by the APC Chairman, a Senior Special Adviser to Governor Darius Ishaku on Political Matters, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa described the leadership and members of APC in the state as Abuja politicians who do not even know what is happening in the state because they only come to cause chaos and leave.

He said Govenernor Darius Ishaku has done much in terms of infrastructure that include roads, mordern schools in Takum and Gembu, while others were renovated, adding that the state has recorded a lot of success in the area of education, Agriculture, women and youth empowerment among others.

Alhaji Abubakar Bawa however, explained that Govenernor Darius Ishaku was re-elected by the people of Taraba State because of his developmental strives across the sixteen LGAs of the state, therefore, El-sudi and his party (APC) since they have lost elections in 2015 and 2019 they are in daze and advised them to join the rescue mission of the present administration for the development of the state.

Cleric Advocates Educational Reform In Nigeria, Berates Change In National Anthem

Reverend Father Maurice Kwairanga, the Parish Priest of Saint Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Ngurore is emphasizing the need for educational reform in Nigeria, rather than just changing the national anthem.

He believes that the energy spent on changing the anthem could have been better spent addressing the issues in the education system, such as decay in public schools and institutions.

The priest said this during a mass to commemorate Saint Charles Lwanga Day and also unveiled a learning institute to address the decaying standard of education across the country.

He said it is worrisome that structures in public schools are now death traps, and unqualified teachers are now mentors of the younger generation.

He said the church has taken the initiative to establish a new school, Saint Charles Lwanga Nursery, primary school, and college, to contribute to improving education in the country.

“We will build a world-class school in this part of Nigeria. As a church, we might not have the funds at the moment, but we have the will to do it. The Saint Charles Lwanga Nursery and Primary will have all the modern teaching equipment and qualified teachers, unlike what is obtainable in the public schools”

His message highlights the importance of prioritizing education to drive meaningful change and development in Nigeria.

As a church leader, he lent his voice in calling for patriotic Nigerians to invest in education by supporting initiatives that will strengthen the sector and improve the standard of education.

Highlights of the Saint Charles Lwanga Day in Ngurore were traditional dances from different communities.
